Clyde will be coming to live with us!!!

I really hope my four (or at least one or two of them) warm up to him. He will be here either Sunday or sometime between Friday & Sunday next week!

So maybe someone will feel the call to make room for Ophelia! (Maybe if you renamed her Sunshine or something, LOL)

But she already comes to her name!
(As Ophelia is trying to attack Molly behind me.
) After Ophelia, I don't think I will ever have 5 or more cats again. The more there are, the more likely I am to get a cat like Ophelia, & I don't want to do this again. I can't handle doing this again.

LOL! So you can be sure I'll be asking you all the deaf cat questions! This will be my third odd-eyed white cat. I think that's kinda weird...

The latest is that Clyde will probably be coming home Sunday.
Yay.

You know, one good thing about adopting a deaf cat is that you can change his name and he won't even notice.
(Sorry, I'm just in a silly mood today
)

Congrats, Kim! Clyde is a beautiful boy!

So glad to hear the news. Our deaf cat reacted a lot to vibrations and the actions of the other cats.

(aside...wow, I think I just figured out multi-quoting!)
I was thinking that myself, LOL. For that matter, why even name a deaf cat? Except the other cats probably go, "Hey - she's calling you," when you call their name. I was thinking of starting right away with a laser light and Bonita flakes, and training him to come to the laser.

I understand they really pick up to vibrations in the floor and such. I'm sure he'll be able to tell when Smudge or the puppy are around!

Aw, dang! The co-worker called at 10 a.m., but my DH had put his cell phone on vibrate. I finally asked him to check his messages at 1 or 2, and he tried calling her, but she wasn't home.

BUT...I bought a new cat box, more litter, cleaned all the boxes, washed one of the sheepskin cat beds, and put batteries in the new laser pointer.

I plan on trying to train him to come to the laser pointer...

Stupid Cell Phone carrier!!!
Co worker didn't get the message til MONDAY morning. Anyway, we're now on for Saturday, at about 10:30 a.m., and she had my address. Poor lady - she has a two year old. Only thing almost as bad as having a 14 and 15 year old, IMO.

Clyde is home!!!!!

Oh, he is the sweetest cat ever! I can't find my camera, but I'll get pics as soon as I can. We've got him in the basement (finished) with food, water, soft food, several sheepskin beds, and 2 litter boxes. The other cats can go down and visit him, and Elsa and Smudge have spent some time with him, just sort of hanging out. I've started him on Lysine for his poor eye.

He has very thick fur - so thick that it's actually matting - and he's a short hair! Also, his muzzle is very pronounced. And his back legs are longer than his front, giving him (to me) a manx-like look. The only indication that he's deaf are that he doesn't start or look around when the dogs run around upstairs, and also he has a habit of looking me right in the face - it's unusual. Like he's waiting for direction.

I'm so glad this kitty found you! You're obviously the perfect mom for him. And of course, since I have a Clyde myself, I think his name is perfect!

More pictures soon?
