My 1 year old cat, Cassie has had a bad bladder infection and a UTI for about 4-5 weeks now. The vet had her on Clavamox drops for 10 days, then she was off medicine for 7. 2 weeks ago she got sick again, and I took her back. They put her back on the Clavamox drops for 3 weeks. She wasn't getting any better after a week (she was still urinating in the bed), so I took her back. Now he gave me 2 medicines to use. He said to use the one that worked best.

So, I need to know what is the difference between Orbax 20, and Baytril???? Help!! What would you give your cat??????

They're both pretty similar drugs, both being broad spectrum antibiotics but the difficult thing with bacteria is that some microorganisms are resistant to the effects of a particular antibiotic. This sounds like the case with your cat and the clavamox.

I'm guessing your veterinarian wants to see if either one of these two drugs will help treat the infection and hopefully clear it up for good. If not your vet might want to run a culture and sensitivity test on your cat's urine to identify the organism and use the proper drug.
