Does anybody know why we are doing it 2 weeks early this year? Wasn't it always the first weekend of April? Just curious.
The new starts and stop dates were set in the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
We are actually starting it 3 weeks earlier and ending it a week later.
The rationale behind DST is so outdated I agree with California in changing to year round DST and getting rid of twice yearly time changes.

anyway, I agree wit Arlyn, it needs to be compeltely done away with
Arizona doesn't observe DST but, since a call center deals with people, from all over the country, my schedule will change on Monday - I will go in an hour earlier and get off at 6:30, instead of 7:30.
DST is an anachronism, originally begun as an energy-saving wartime measure. WWII is OVER - DST needs to be dumped.
