I have 4 kittens that are now 15 weeks old. They are very good kittens except for one thing... the race around the tv. I can't keep them away from the back of my tv stand. The tv is hanging on the wall and my surround sound, satellite reciever and dvd player are in the stand, so there are loads of wires behind it. Everything is plugged into a surge protector and they step on it and shut everything off. I turned it on it's side so that has not happened lately. I still can't keep them away from the tv tho. They like to get up on the stand and put their paws up on the tv screen, they run behind it, play and roll behind it, and chew on the wires. Any suggestions of how to get them to stop or to keep them away from the tv stand? Thanks. Jennifer.

I've never used it, but there's a liquid called Bitter Apple that you can paint on the wires so they won't chew on them and get electrocuted -- but beyond that, gosh... I've never found a way to keep kittens from going anywhere their squirmy little selves can fit!

Surge protectors are awfully vulnerable, I know. I've been thinking of buying a short length of PVC pipe to slide over my surge protector to keep little paws off of it. I'm worried about heat buildup, though, so I guess I'd need to drill a lot of small holes in it to allow ventilation...

You need to keep them out of there as soon as possible! Maybe putting some boards on each side, close the area off some how. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen..........
