I definitly don't have any anorexic tendencies!! Definitley not, just ask Colby....I eat plenty!
I guess I worded it wrong. I don't see myself as 'fat' perse, but when I look at myself I don't think that I am as 'thin' as the numbers on the scale say. At 148, that is fairly thin and fit, but I feel flabby still and chubby too.

As time goes on I'm sure it will pass. Having just ate an ice cream sandwich and loving every minute of it, I think I'll get of the computer and do something physical now!

Thanks for the great posts!

Wow! I'm totally impressed with everyone.

I haven't been around lately, but you guys are doing amazing!! Take each day as a new start and don't worry about the little bumps in the road. It's the little steps that get you to your goals and will maintain this healthier body.

Daniela:

You have to quit being so hard on yourself. I started WW at about where you were. As of tonight, I am down 20.2. I have set my goal at 145, which is much more than I would have guessed I would be setting it at 17 weeks ago. But I am very pleased with my progress and with how I am looking...for the most part. I still have some ab work to do, but I am working on it. Today, somebody even called me THIN! This was somebody at my new job who didn't know me 'before'. I think one thing that has made a big difference for me, image-wise, is when I buy new clothes, I am buying styles that I wouldn't have been caught dead in before. It really helps you see that there IS a difference.

And a huge WTG for everyone who is keeping up with whatever program they are on and making themselves a priority. If I could do this, anyone can!

Thanks Daniela! It's nice to look good once again. I did post some pictures a while back in this thread & they're also in the Picture thread. It's amazing to see the difference on film or on a screen. It's hard to look at myself in the mirror & see the differences since I see the same thing day after day.
I also agree with Deb...don't be so hard on yourself. Most importantly, you have to have a good mind set. You have to love your body even when you don't want to. It's the only way to start losing any kind of weight...positive thoughts.

I could never be anorexic because I really, really like to eat. And I will never be bulimic because I really, really don't like to throw up. But I have the same issues over body image, and I think many women do.

The interesting thing for me is that I was very thin for my whole life until I hit 25 or so, but I don't remember having a very good body image then, either.

Good job to everyone - it sounds like lots of you are doing so well right now!

I did go for a walk today with the puppies, and that felt good. I really need to get motivated to exercise regularly. When I really decided I needed to lose weight it was for health reasons more than appearance - my mom was going through some pretty serious health stuff mainly due to her weight and diet. She's lost close to 50 pounds now, I think. I just don't want to be in the same situation when I'm her age.

Well I didn't overdo the eating during thanksgiving, which means I didn't gain weight. I actually lost another pound this week. I started exercising again yesterday. I took my Gazelle out from behind the furnace and plopped it in front of the TV. I started with 13 minutes and will increase it over time to 20 minutes at least 4 times per week!

Right now i am drinking a big bottle of water and will go and get a salad for lunch!

Good for you! Holidays can be very hard when changing ones diet but wanting those family traditional dishes!

Water, water, water sounds like a great idea...I hit a new low this past weekend (would be 59 lbs. off) but now have swung back up

I know it's how I lose, swing up, then down then a swoosh (sometimes!) down and then a bit up....inching my way down <G>

OMG I just had the most amazing thing happen. I was in a clothing store with my mom about an hour ago, and thought I'd try on a skirt. I know that store's sizes generally run a little bigger (I would take a 14 there if I was wearing a 16 everywhere else), so I thought I'd try a 12. There wasn't one, but the 10 looked reasonably roomy, so I tried it - and it was TOO BIG!!!

I have a brand new size 8 skirt to wear to work tomorrow!!!!!

(I know the sizes don't mean that much because they can vary so much, but I haven't been able to fit into anything in a size 8 for about 10 years...)

Ady, congrats on the holiday eating!!!

Susan - a size 8 - that is fantastic!

Exercised last night again. I think I am getting into the swing of things!

I just figured something out. (Sometimes it takes me a while.
)

I like going for walks with the dogs, but I tend to get bored after a short time. I just picked up a book-on-cd from the library because I had to make a few-hours long car trip by myself. I only got a couple of hours into it while driving, and it's like 22 hours long.

So tonight, I put my book-on-cd in the walkman and went for a pretty long walk - I didn't time it, but it was at least 1/2 an hour. And I could have gone longer but Cookie was pulling on my arm really hard and it was hurting my back. (The dogs weigh 80 pounds each.) I think I may have finally figured out a way to keep motivated to keep walking!

On another note, will someone please reassure me that I am not an evil mommy if I only take one dog at a time with me walking? If I take them both they don't behave, but they're fine one at a time. However, whichever gets left at home howls like crazy and flings him/herself at the door. I feel just terrible, even though I know each will eventually get a turn.

It is a good idea to take one dog at a time - that way you get two walks in one day and nope, yer not evil!

It's official! I have reached my goal! I just weighed myself (even though I should have waited until morning since I just ate dinner!) & I'm down 30 pounds! It's amazing guys...I feel great! I'm still shocked everytime I step on that dreaded scale. It's like I have to do a double or triple take on it..."170lb's? That can't be right!". But it's true & damn does it feel awesome!

Just had to share with you all. I'm just tickled pink!

How's everyone else doing on the weight loss? Good I hope!

Keep up the great work everyone!

Congrats Shell!!! You go girl!!!

I'm within 10lbs. of my goal. I actually went out and got new clothes one size smaller than I normally wear today! I finally dropped a size!

Well, thanks Heidi! I'm finally starting to get over the "fat mentality" & where I always thought I looked a huge cow. Now, I know that I look good & it's driving me to look even better. I've still got some pudge to work on, but I think this week I'm going to start working out at the gym in my apartment complex. I really need to do some toning up.

Thanks again! You're too sweet!

How's the weight loss going for you?
