P.S. Where is everyone who used to post here??
Well I haven't posted in a while because I had gotten as close to being off my plan as one can be without being off. I let my one meal a day where I have a balanced amount of carbs get very carb heavy and not well balanced. My body is apparently damaged enough that it will gain if I do not follow my eating plan strictly. So..I slowly saw 10 lbs of the 63 I'd lost come back on. I saw my vastly improved total cholesterol shoot back up 40+ points, and for the first time ever, flunked my hgb A1C test (which shows what your blood sugars have been for over a 3 month period).
Based on this one test (and the new standards that lowered the definition/the range of what qualifies as diabetes) my doctor tried to diagnose me as diabetic. Being a stubborn retired RN, I looked at all the results and came to a different conclusion...I got my doctor to give me 3 more months to prove my point.
I am *strictly* on my eating plan, and the proof will be if in 3 months, my cholesterol values once again plummet and this time, I have a normal hgb a1c.
Not fun stuff to post, so I didn't
I now walk on my treadmill almost every day (oh yeah...did I mention I had a first time bout with cellulitis in my leg and then what they thought was a superficial calf thrombosis?) for over a mile, am on aspirin therapy, have lost 5 of the lbs I'd gained and am sticking tightly to my eating plan - which is when I always feel best healthwise.
Pat - following the carbohydrateaddicts lifespan program (calp)...and off to drink more water and do my treadmill walk for today.
