That was my tip...next I'm going to use this instead of brocoli in the cassrole recipe I posted yesterday.

Thank heavens for cauliflower!

What do you mash the cauliflower with? I mean, like butter or what? I am intrigued!

Whatever you like. Our usual is with butter, fresh ground black pepper and a bit of salt, or we add sour cream as well...or we added fresh shredded cheese - yum. I've even tried cream cheese for a very rich, luxurious result.

I've also tried using small cauliflower florets, raw, to make a mock potato salad. The possibilities are endless

I just added a little butter and mashed it in the food processor. I still can't get over how much it tasted like mashed potatoes! I probably should have just left out the better and then just spritzed my helping with the "I can't believe it's not butter" spray.

Deb25,

Have you seen results? How long have you been going?

I must say, I don't feel 'dead' tonight -- my muscles are not aching or anything.

The stretching really helps with not being sore. I have been going for 3 months. The first month I lost 22 inches overall, which was MAJOR! I am also doing Weight Watchers, so I think the 2 really complimented each other. The next 2 months were nowhere near as dramatic. The part I like is that the percentage of body fat keeps going doen.

22 inches in one month -- WOW!! that is fantastic! Congratulations.

I was on WW 12 years ago and lost 50 lbs, and then gained it back. Then, 2 years ago I lost 60 lbs on Jenny Craig, but have gained it all back. I never really exercised much, so I am really hoping that being able to get into a 'routine' with Curves will be really helpful.

Me either. So, Curves has been great for me. I really feel the difference in many ways. My stamina is better. And they say that muscle burns calories more efficiently. Going to Curves is one thing that I think helped me actually have a much higher goal weight than I was originally shooting for. As long as I am looking good, feeling good, and having clothes fit well, then I really do not care about a number on the scale. I would say that those darn abs are the only place left that I really want to keep working on.

My Curves is also really good about having some type of game always running and letting the members earn Curves bucks. So far, I have been able to "buy" 2 Curves t-shirts and a great lunch box. I am now saving up for a pair of shorts. Most of the time, we laugh and have a good time while we are working out. Sometimes, I don't feel like going, but I force myself, and I always feel better afterward. And the best part is that it only takes 30 minutes. I love Curves!

A couple of weeks ago I got some info on joining Curves, but haven't done so yet. What is really nice is that my Curves is close enought that I would be able to ride my bike there in nice weather - which would add 1/2 - 1 hour of biking on to the workout. I just need to get my act together and join up!

Suzy:

Keep your eye out for membership specials. My center often runs 50% off the joining fee. I joined during my center's 1 year anniversary and got 75% off.

Our curves just opened this week, so there are no contests running yet. That will be fun! I was reading somewhere (I think on that 3 Fat Chicks site) that some curves actually have more machines than others? I guess after they are established for awhile maybe they can afford to buy more?

Yes, ours generally runs some specials in the paper, so I will wait to join until I get a coupon. Might as well save 50-75% if I can!!

Yes, some centers do have more machines. Mine has 9, I think. They are thinking of adding a 10th, but we are pretty limited on space.

Yum! I just made some Ketogenic low-carb chocolate chip muffins for breakfast, and they are really good!! I hadn't tried that brand before. They taste a little like chocolate chip cookies.

Fellow Calp'ers rave about Curves, but I'm such a homebody, we bought a treadmill and I use that while watching tv

well, my week ends on Sunday, I lost .3 of a lb. this past week (previous week I lost .6) for almost 1/2 lb. each week for the past two.

Please remind me that turtles can win too...ugh! It doesn't help that stress causes increased release of insulin making it harder for me to lose and my level is through the roof at the moment.

But enough of my woes, I wish all of you a great start to your week,
