Hi there Emma
we're so happy to welcome you to TCS. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay with us - we're one great big family and you'll find loads of friends here. If I can help at all while you're finding your way around TCS just click on my username and send me a Personal Message - I'll do what I can to answer your questions

It's lovely that you're looking for a kitty. Why don't you take a trip down to your local RSPCA or other shelter. You will see so many kitties there just crying out for a home. Don't close your eyes to older kitties needing a home. Just look for the one that grabs your heart

Welcome to the forum!

I agree, try your local vet or shelter and see if there are any kitties that are in need of a home! I'm sure you'll find one that catches your heart in no time

Hi welcome to TCS, everyone here is so nice and this is a great site, also this site can be very informative and fun too
I do agree with everyone check around we found an add in the newspaper and it was a privsate rescuer that had about 30 cats for adoption and some she takes to the shelters when she doesnt have room, well of course the no kill shelters, but we ended up getting a 7 month old kitten and a year old kittie and o my they are joys, and our willie we adopted when he was 3 from a local shelter and he is 11 now and he is the sweetest most loveable cat
and well bella found us and midnight was left behind at my brothers apartment so we took him too and stormie we found online
so we have 6 rescues of all ages and well I love them soo much, like everyones said go to a shelter and see which one chooses u
well see u on the forums and good luck

Welcome Emma and boyfriend

to TheCatSite. Why did moving with your boyfriend mean you do not have a cat now? We recommend visiting your local shelter, rescue group, or sanctuary and adopting one or more cats. We also recommend adult cats, as so many desperately need loving homes and they are every bit as sweet, loving, loyal, and often playful as kittens.

We are all rescued from the streets or the desert, and even Nicolas T. Cat, who's almost 17, is lightning-fast when playing with toys.

You can probably find your local shelter and cat rescue groups/sanctuaries using Google. Good luck, and we hope you're soon new catparents!

Hello & welcome. As said before, the best place to find a new kitty is from a shelter or rescue oganization. Good luck in your search.

Welcome to the board!

You might also try petfinder.com

There are tons of wonderful cats out there who would love to come home with you
I am sure you will have no trouble finding one. Why not get two? Then they could keep eachother company while you're at work. Just make sure you adopt them together. Most shelters will have some bonded cats who are perfect to be adopted together.
