I love the name Marie. That was my grandmothers name (actually Erie-Marie). She went by Marie. Also my BF's mom's first name is Marie as well. She is french, however my grandmother wasn't.

It's such a pretty, feminine name. If I have a daughter I'd consider using it. It would make both my family and my BFs family happy!

I was named after two aunts one on my mom's side, one on my dad's.
My first name was at the request of a dying woman, my mother could hardly refuse even though it was an awful name.
I have since legally changed my first name.
My middle name is Jean

My middle name is Mary. I'm named after my two grandmothers- Jean for my maternal grandmother and Mary for my paternal grandmother. My parents said they debated whether it should be Jean Mary or Mary Jean and finally decided when I was born. I have no preference for either name. They are both old names and family names.

Everyone seems to be named after a family member. My mom & dad made a deal...Dad would name the girls and Mom would name the boys. I was named after my father's favorite cartoonist, Walt Kelly, the political satirist who wrote the cartoon "Pogo". Here's the interesting Wikipedia link about Walt Kelly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Kelly I guess I should be thankful that he didn't name me Walt! My middle name is Jo. I'm not sure where that came from. I think it's because my last name is so l-o-n-g, they decided to give my sister and I short first and middle names. Her name is Lori Kay, I'm Kelli Jo.

I gave all my kitties middle names too. Cleo Sue (Dr. Sue is our vet that we love), Maggie May and Lola Jean.

My middle name is Lee, my dad's middle name was Lee too, so I think I was named after him.

This is neat though, when my mom first found out that she was pregnant with me, she asked my dad what he wanted for Fathers Day. He told her a little girl, and bingo bango, I was born on Fathers Day. What a great present my dad got.

Adriann - a feminine version of my dad's (and his dad) middle name. My middle name is also one argument my mom lost. She wanted an "e" at the end and dad said no, it was long enough. I like it, but at times it was annoying because it rhymes with my first name.

A cousin named his daughter Misty Dawn.

Mine is Lee, which is a family name - I share it with quite a number of relatives. I'm not especially fond of either my first or middle name. I appreciate the family connections they have but probably wouldn't have picked them myself.

My middle name is Anne. I was named after my Mom's best friend, who was called Anna (Mom didn't know that at the time--only her husband called her "Anna"). And then Mom found out the woman's REAL name was Phoebe!

My Dad named me. My Mom wanted to name me Natasha Suzanne or Sophia. Dad wouldn't let her! He thought my first name was sexy (I was named after 2 actresses popular in Dad's youth). After 20 years of trying, they finally got the girl they wanted. With my last brother, they only had a girl's name chosen--Mom was so sure she was having a boy!

Over the river and through the woods...
My middle name is Marie, which works well with my first name Hope. I was actually named after my mother but her name was Mary, and Hope Mary just didn't sound right. When I was in 3rd grade, I started signing my paper "Marie", just because I was tired of hearing the song "High Hopes"! But, the teachers didn't like that too much. Now, I like Hope much better...there aren't many of us around!

My middle name is Lorraine. It's okay, I thought it would be cute to be called Lori or something when I was younger but I never tried it.

When I got married, I dropped it and my maiden name because my middle name. But now... I'll be going back.

My middle name is Jane, named after my Mom. I like it so much better then my first name which is Nancy. I'd probably go by Jane if there weren't allready about a hundred Jane's in my family.

I have one allot like that. It came from my great-grandmother on my fathers side... and it's Stincy (pronounced: Stin-see) I hated it in school because it always got switched to stinky... in fact, I was almost baptized Meaghan Stinky... I do like it now though. And soon (after I'm married) I'll have 2 because I'll legally change my maiden name to be a middle name.

My brother also has 2 middle names. He got his own first name then his middle names are our father's first & middle name. So, my dad is Thomas Scott & my brother is Joshua Thomas Scott.

What's funny is my parents almost named my Abigail (I always LOVED the name Abby) but they didn't because my dad didn't want me beign called Abby for some reason... he liked the full name but not the most likely nick name. Instead I was dubbed Meggy by family.

My name is also Nancy Jane. Jane was my aunt's name, I don't know where "Nancy" came from.

I don't mind "Nancy" as a first name. I wouldn't mind having "Jane" as my first name either.

I also like my name "Felicia."
