I was just wondering if anyone lives in the pittsburgh area, of Pennsylvania. =)

I'm looking for a vet right now and i've found some places. I'm going to call them tomorrow for prices, but i was just wondering if anyone had some recommendations. I want to take her to a good vet, but i'm not sure which ones those are yet. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has some advice! I need somewhere that isn't going to be too expensive and that i can walk to or take the bus. I don't have a car right now, but i will in a few weeks. I live in Shadyside and i know there are a lot of places around me, but i don't know what places are good and what places arent. Thanks so much.. =)

yay vet!

Hi there, I've tried two vets. Northview Animal Hospital (in Ross Twnshp) was where I went first. They're ok, but they were really unhelpful with Puppy's behavior problems and treated me like I was stupid. We just tried out the Cat Clinic in Bloomfield, on Liberty Ave. They were expensive, but the vet was much more understanding and was willing to think up possible problems, diagnosis, and solutions. He doesn't like to over vaccinate, so actually the total bill came out cheaper.

I've also heard that there's a little place in Greenfield that's good. Apparently it's an old-school vet where you have no appointment; you walk in and pets are triaged according to need. Rumor has it that as long as there's no emergency in the lobby, the vet is very good and spends lots of time with patients. Of course, you have to wait your turn!

My friends took their cat to a vet in Shadyside, apparently it's a chain that has vets in Squirrel Hill and other east neighborhoods too.

BTW, the Cat Clinic in Bloomfield is close to lots of buslines, especially from SS.
