My theory is that the "others" with the use of all the Dharma equipment KNEW who was on the plane, made it crash on the island and then staged the other plane crash so no one would be looking for the real plane and it's passengers.

Ben certainly did not seem surprised when the plane crashed on the island. I don't know how they could pull off staging another plane crash to make it look like that one though.

I don't know about using polar bears in pregnancy research
...who knows though!

The island power could definitely explain how they can survive there.

My main reason for thinking that is becasue Ben wasn't surprised... and none of the other others were either. Wow, that was a mouth full! And because they had background on ALL the people on the flight!

I don't know if it was pregnancy research but they were obviously set up for bears at the others' site. The polar bears are definitely there for research purposes, imo. Now, though, how do you explain all the ghosts/hallucinations.. all the interactions between all the people on the plane in prior lives..the "shadow" monster which we really haven't seen much of lately.. and I think darma is separate from the "others". Dunno, it's goofy. None of it makes any sense and I think they're going to have a difficult time bringing it all together considering how far they stretched the differences between all the survivors. Hurley's having hallucinations (in theory) and they're all really in the institution.. Desmond is apparently destined to relive his life until .. whenever.. everyone else seems pretty normal except for Locke... just hard to tie that all in I think.

You pretty well summed up all the junk swarming through my mind!!

I was under the impression that they were going to wrap it up soon, but the commercial keeps saying "3 more episodes until the SEASON finale!!"
Does this mean we're going to have to wait until September before we have any clue whats really going on??

Probably... you know, I've been (since right about the time I graduated from high school, in '90) been reading a series (because it's taken the author this long to kick out the books).. in which the author sort of admitted that he just sits down and writes the books with no real "outline" in mind. He says the characters just write themselves, and I've noticed that one of the things that happen is a lot of questions are left unanswered. Here we are, 17 years later.. and I'm still working on getting through this series because so far it's 10 books strong and he's still writing..without an outline..but anyway...

I'm thinking the writers of Lost have sort of done that. They've done an excellent job of setting the stage for intrigue, but honestly, I have absolutely no idea how they're going to tie it all in. There's so much tied together in *every* aspect that I just have no idea how they're going to make it work.

Yeah, pretty much they're going to answer a few questions, I think, and then say.. oh, well, wait till September (when they'll wait until the end of the season to start answering questions again...)

Humph! Really liked the last episode but am now desperate for the last episode of this season...

I'm sticking to my idea that it will be revealed that Ben is the 'good guy' before the end

Wow, another great episode tonight. I loved the twist that Lock's dad was the guy that Sawyer had been looking for all those years.

It looks too like Juliet is going to get hers in the next few episodes too

I LOVE the theory that the island is really hell! Never thought of that... I'm seriousely wondering how/when they'll end all of this.

Ohh, the car episode was a pretty fun one. I just love Hurley. He's one of my favorite characters.. gotta love his dry sense of humor.

I just can't ever figure out Locke. He still seems to be loyal to the survivors though, even though he's making choices to go off to the "others" and is rather self-serving.

Well, Ben didn't prove you wrong last nite.... his letting Locke walk away was unexpected. The twist with Sawyer killing his dad for him was sweet.

I LOVED last night's show!

I think that the island is really more of a Purgatory than Hell, but my husband doesn't think so because the show's creators have apparently already discounted that theory (which doesn't mean anything to me). He thinks that the Others staged the plane crash and the bodies found inside, and that the paramedic guy who brought Locke's dad to the island was the same guy who brought Juliet over.

I have to agree with your husband on this. The creators did say that the island wasnt hell or anything like that. So I think that the paramedic was the same guy that took Juliet.

I kind of agree with that part, but I have a really hard time believing that the plane crash and the dead bodies inside were staged. That is just too elaborate.

Nothing is too elaborate for this show

I really hope they don't do the Hell/Purgatory angle. I think even if the creators didn't mention it, it would still be kind of a let down because that's what everyone has always thought the answer was. It's kind of like an obvious one.

I think the lady is an Other & she lied about about finding the plane and dead bodies. I think she is there to help take the pregnant ladies like Ben said. Do you really think Ben trusts Julia to spy on her own? I also think they mentioned hell so we can all dismiss that theory.

You're right, it would be kind of a let down. I want the explanation to be something no one has thought of.

When Jack & Juliet were on the beach with Kate and Jack said "Not Yet" that's when I started thinking that Juliet told Jack about Ben's plan & that someone else will be involved.
