Yesterday my step-dad and I finally got to meet and get decorations for my mother's surprise party. Well I didn't like the invitations. I thought they were too expensive and cheesy. So I went to the craft store afterward..... That is always dangerous!

The theme is Hollywood and we got tons of cute decorations. For the invitations I'm cutting squares of black card stock, with the invitation printed on a pretty pearl like white square, with the edges cut with one of those fancy scissors that makes a pattern...called postage stamp I think. Then I'm using small gold and silver stars on the edge of each white square, which is glued to the black. There is also a Hollywood clip art picture behind the text. They look really cute! But gosh my hands hurt! Those fancy scissors are not easy to use!

Oh and the ink takes forever to dry on the white fancy paper.....I mean like forever! How in the world do I get myself in these situations? Repeatedly!

Did you try a hairdryer on a low setting to hasten the ink drying??
I know for stamping I have a heat tool that just provides heat no air flow.
I would give the hairdryer a test. Keep the invite flat on table and hold hairdryer about 8-10" off paper.

Thanks! I'll try that!

Did I mention I need to give these out tomorrow because the party is in 2 weeks and I need to give the caterer a head count in 1 week???

LOL! This time I only half blame me! I've been getting on my step-dad for weeks! He just got permission to use the church...and he bought all the decorations...so I couldn't make the invites not knowing what the theme was..... See! Only half my fault!
