In january a stray cat showed up and we thought she might be pregnat but then it seemed as if she got skinny so we weren't sure if she was or not. The cat stayed unlike the other strays that have showed up. Last weekend she disappeared for two days during the snow storm then showed up again on monday. Turns out she was in an old building. On Thursday she started yowling all the time and shes usually a very quiet cat. Then last night she began to roll around a lot on the floor, and sort of stretch while sticking her tail in the air, and when she did that her yowel would become louder. Last night we locked her up in the dog house just in case with a litter box, food, and water but nothing happened. Shes on the deck now still walking around. Do you think that she is about to have kittens? Sorry but I know almost nothing about cats.

No I don't think she's about to give birth. I think she is in the middle of a heat cycle. A female cat in heat behaves just like what you described. I'd be slacking if I didn't suggest that you get her spayed.

Sounds like she's in heat not due to deliver. Unless of course her belly is huge then that's another whole ballgame!

If you could catch her, do try and get her spayed...please? And ensure her ear is clipped before you release her again!
