Keep your fingers crossed for me

I decided that I was tired of all the problems with my computer, and I am re-installing Windows XP.

I just finished backing up all my stuff, which was a pain because the only software I had wont burn DVDs (it's supposed to but it wont ) so I had to back up everything on CDs. It took 9 of them! (for mp3s mostly)

So now I'm off to formating the hard drive and starting out from scratch.

Please keep your fingers crossed that...
- Windows installs properly
- I can manage to install the internet fine

Everything else I can fix once I have the internet working properly.

Are you putting up a partition in your hard-drive to avoid this in future?

Seems like a computers have issues sort of day. Good luck! XP is relatively more simple then Windows 95 and 98 to set up.

It didn't work

So I re-installed Linux. At least a fresh installation of Linux might solve a few of the problems, but not most of them.

Awww... I've always been too chicken to use Linux software, I really like the idea but I'm scared I'll mess up and delete stuff

Well, at least you are back online. It could been worse.
