I should add first that I'm Fred&Nermal posing a F&N'sDad just for tonight. My boyfriend's wireless is down, so I can't use my laptop at his place. His computer is hooked up via cable, and I don't want to screw up his TCS connection.

David Bowie. I think he is the greatest. His album from a few years ago, Heathen, is excellent. And of course, all his old stuff.

I recently got Damien Rice's "O", which I really think is beautiful.

For ambient, I've been into Goldfrapp's "Black Cherry".

Current favourites listed below but this is a daily changing thing

The Sisters of Mercy- the album Floodland especially, possibly most under-rated band of all time, great live.

The Hold Steady- for fans of Springsteen and that old fashioned AOR it doesn't get much better than this musically or lyrically, Boys & Girls In America highly recommended.

Mogwai- not recommended, this band are a bit too clever and 'dark' for those that never liked MBV and I really can't see anyone-else on this site being a fan. Come On Die Young is my favourite whilst I hear their soundtrack to Zidane was superb. This isn't the sound of 'post-rock', this is the sound of the world ending.

I'm not really going to comment on Pete Doherty's music but I'm disgusted at the footage of him feeding cannabis to penguins in the press this week- marking one of the strangest stories I have seen. I hope he gets sued for animal cruelty

I listen to mainly Japanese music, but my favorites are in the order:

The Brilliant Green
High and Mighty Color
Tommy Heavenly 6

Tommy Heavenly 6 is just one of Tomoko Kawase's (vocals for The Brilliant Green) solo works.

Music vids for above groups can be found on YouTube if you're curious.

Glenn Hughes (hard rock/blues/soul/funk mix throughout his music)
Deep Purple
Savatage (metal)

Some Jrock, a little older Jpop, and mostly Jmetal fan here
though I haven't listen to much of it in a while, and a lot of fan community is dreadful...

oh for for gosh sakes...that was posted in a TABLOID.. you do know tabloids make up 99% of what they print, right? And yes, there were photos of him next to a penguin exhibit, but they were faraway and blurry, and you couldn't really tell what, if anything, was happening. If I thought he genuinely hurt an animal I'd say it was wrong in a heartbeat - I don't agree with everything he does - but I tend to not put my trust in newspapers like The Sun - it's a tabloid. Like the National Enquirer. Do you believe what you read in the Enquirer?

My 3 favorites for today are Janis Joplin, Nick Cave and Jimi Hendrix. I listen to pretty much everything save current r'nb. Mostly perhaps 60's and 70's stuff, metal and hardcore punk.
