The weatherman on the national news tonight said this weather is just storm cells and that the only place in the world getting this weather is the USA!!

I talked to Shawn a few minutes ago, he was just getting off work so he had not got home yet.

He said that where ever they were at working, it didn't look that bad then, but his boss called and told them to get somewheres safe, he told them it was coming and it was coming fast. They got under the house where they were working but nothing ever happened, he said when they got ready to leave though, it was looking bad.

Now if Brandi could check in, she's near Columbus GA and they got hit hard too. I don't think she has a computer at home though...
I know and she was leaving work when the weather was really bad, too.

We had warnings all over here in Tennessee today as well. Thankfully in my part nothing happened/ Please pray for Tupelo, MS though- all i heard was that they had a tornado from one of my coworkers (haven't seen new yet). I'm not sure of the damage or anything of that nature yet- but i'm praying it was only minor. Does anyone know?

Wow i just saw a preview for the news tonight at 10- over a dozen people were killed from the tornados in Alabama
. Does anyone know what part of Alabama??? My heart goes out to everyone there right now. I'm praying it's not Mobile- that's where Colin's family is. Does anyone know what parts got hit?

We have the floods here right now.We live by 2 creeks and they are at the top level. With a little more rain, they will come out of their banks and my yard will be flooded once again.
3 years ago, it flooded so bad, that the water was 6 inches from coming in our house.
MANY prayers for all in the way of all this bad weather.

Miller's Ferry (66 miles west of Montgomery) and Enterprise, Al in SE Alabama were where the tornados hit and the 13 people died. So they should be okay, Nikki
. We had a couple of warnings but the rotation on the radar died out just before it got here- whew!

I don't think they were expecting the really bad stuff to the south that early in the day, so they probably kept the kids in school so there weren't a bunch of teenagers driving around in the storms. The pics of the school that were on the news tonight were shocking. Trees twisted off at the base or just above it, rows of them gone, cars flipped over and around the parking lot, the buildings looked like a bomb went off. Please pray for the families who lost loved ones and homes today. Apparently, there was damage to homes across the state, but of course they haven't really said anything yet on the news.

We just went under a tornado watch!
Til 5am. I hate this crap at night, when you have no idea what might be coming.... Looks like the storms aren't moving like they expected.... I can hear the wind howling already....

Tammy, looks like you are getting a ton of rain as well. Stay safe!

Tupelo is several hours away from us, I know it is north though, cause it ain't close to me.

I will try and watch the news in a little while and if they have something I will let you know.

We'll try! This house has been here since 1956, so I am not really worried, that's a lot of bad weather. And we had Hurricane Hugo right through here in 1989, so I am optimistic.

Thanks LeighAnn and Bea!

You know that I know nothing about maps and directions, just what is this map telling us.

I can't believe that you would think I would know something, did you forget who you were talking about?

I know we are in the same state, but I really have no idea on where it is. I have heard of it, I just don't think I have ever been there.

I live in that part of Alabama. Enterprise is only about 15 miles from where I live now, we moved back home to Alabama from Ga. last year.
When we moved here, we had a choice of two schools for my daughter to attend, Enterprise or the one where she goes now closer to Dothan. If we had moved there she would have been there today. My nieces husband teaches there also and they live in Enterprise. He is fine, but very upset about what has happened there today. One of my husbands coworkers home was heavily damaged also. While at work today my husband saw 3 tornados pass through from Enterprise to Ft Rucker, where he works. We live in a farm community here and there is a big red barn across the road from us that collapsed. I left home about 12:45 to pick up my daughter from school, they let out at 1 and when we came home the barn was down. Its been a scary day! Its still very windy outside but hopefully the worst is over.
