The good news is that my wrist should heal quickly because I have great bones and won't require much therapy and I won't need surgery. Hopefully there wasn't much cartilage damage.

The bad news is, I cant lift more than 5 pounds with my left hand and
can only do most things with my right hand. I called my boss, and she
said she can't have me in a classroom.

Hopefully I can get something with FMLA. The lady has yet to call me back.

Should I start looking for a new career?

PS I'm already getting bored not doing much. Any suggestions?

I broke my left wrist about six years ago. Lucky for my I'm right-handed. What I did when I got bored was either find a fun game to play or write. Since I'm a musician I wrote music. Before long I had wrote 3 songs for piano and 9 for guitar. Not only did it pass the time but it also made me a better musician. Another thing you could do is find a good book to read. It might sound boring but if you find something that you're interested in, then a couple hours of reading will seem like a couple minutes.

Or if you're left-handed it's always fun to try to learn to do things with you're right.

Thanks. I write left handed, but do everything else with my right. I can manage to write with my right hand, and over the past few days people are amazed and say I do better than most. I used to practice when I was younger. My mom says I need to do that again.

I have been watching movies that I've always wnted to see, but never had the time for. I also have a few books I need to finish.

Summer and Chevy are also keeping me entertained (and waking me up) with their playful antics!

How about slowly de-cluttering and reoraganize areas in your house. Like the bathroom. Arranging your clothes and shoes. Little things that are too hard to do with a broken wrist.

Sounds like good idea. There is a lot of clutter that's piled up since Thursday morning, no thanks to the cats knocking everything over and Scott's housekeeping skills. I gotta get motivated to actually do it though.

Right now I'm concerned with the FMLA lady. She was a little rude and said "and why can't you pick up a child one handed?" like I don't know about caring for children. You're not supposed, and it's a little hard to pick them up one handed when their flailing about having a tantrum. Geez lady, I find it hard picking up my 8 - 9 lb cats (I don't) one handed and you want me to pick up a toddler? She's getting my restrictions from my doc today.

Sorry I needed to vent.
