Or atleast turn the voume down?
Ok Phantom is my love bug. Her problem? She purrs constantly. All you have to do it twitch and she starts her motor! Its okay durning the day but at night she wants to be curled by your face or even at your feet. And she sounds like a mack truck purring next to your head! Any ideas?

I can sympathise...I have 4 mack truck kitties!

They've quieted down a little (they're about 9 months old now)...but when they were younger, they would all lay around me in the bed - you could hear their "motors" running all night - it the next room!!

How old is Phantom?

She is about a year we think. They had her b-day as either March or May 16th but that was a guess by the vet.

I had a cat Smokey that did this when he was young, he was so loud you could hear him coming across the house at night

He quit doing it so much when he got older, so maybe your kitty will settle down too. It could be a lot worse than a purring kitty though

haha, thats a good problem to have. My former cats purr was somewhere between a hand saw and harley motorcycle...and it never got a bit quieter as she aged.

Great! I don't know if I can live forever with her purring that loud in my face every night!
But you are right the problem could be worse!

My kitties do that, too, and Pearl -- delicate flower though she is -- actually snores a little. (She'll be embarrassed that I told on her.
) But I'm in the habit of letting a fan run on low all night, and that provides just a bit of a low-key hum that sort of "smoothes out" the sounds and makes it easy to sleep. Maybe that would help you!

P.S. -- All three of your babies are precious!

At least the mack truck kitties don't need a belt changed. Marcie will start purring in the middle of the night and her purr has a slight squeakiness to it that sounds like a mack truck in need of a new fan belt...lol
