I just saw my cat swatting at a bee and I think it stung his paw. He reacted like it did, but now he seems o.k. I am pretty sure he got stung because when I try to examine his paw he acts like it hurts but he seems to be walking normally, not limping, and I can't see a stinger.

Are bee stings a big deal for cats?

My vet told me that cats are like humans in regards to bee stings...meaning it can be anything from no big deal to a huge deal.

My cat was stung once and the (minor) swelling went down pretty quickly...but every cat is different.

My Vet told me the same thing.
He said a cat can be allergic just like a human can.

This past summer I was sitting on the couch and Gracie was sitting beside me.
When she jumped down I noticed that she was favoring her left front foot, at first I thought maybe she just twisted it when she jumped.
A few hours later I found a dead honey bee on the floor, like beandip said the swelling went down within a day or so.

Pretty sure he is ok, because I just saw him picking a fight with my other cat and swatting at her with that paw. Unfortunately for him she is about 18 pounds and he is only 14 pounds, so as usual she ran him over.

More disconcerting is the fact that I have found 2 more bees in my house...bees are my worst fear....grrrrrr. Now I have to figure out how they are getting inside.

Ooooh...I'm petrified of bees. I hope you figure out where they are coming from.

yikes @ bees in the house! I would be terrified, lol.

I'm sure your kitty will be just fine. Usually an allergic reaction happens pretty quick (in people anyways)
