Does this happen to anyone else?

Just wondering if anyone else's furbabies do this. When ever I clean the litterboxes, sugar and spice are always there watching me and getting in the way. It is almost like they are supervising, and I do not clean their boxes well enough??? Does this happen to anyone else?

As soon as i clean Rosie and Sophies boxes, Sophie watches then jumps straight on to tinkle even if it's the tiniest amount because apparantly she's putting her mark there first.

That happens everytime. She use to punch me for it but tht has noe stoped. When my DH does it though, watch out. She acts like the world is ending. Runs all around the house, beating anything up that is in her way. She screams at him and punches and bites him also. Lets just say he will never do that again.

I do not get hit nor biten, but they are always there watching me, kinda like an instant inspection. The other day, spice went digging after I finsihed, to make sure I got everything.

Your kitty has such a mean streak!

Sho could care less, as long as I refill and put the litter box back. Tomas has to "help" me scoop. I'm not sure which one did it but a few months ago I had just finished scrubbing out the box and had left the room to go get the jug of litter. When I came back, after roughly 2 minutes, someone had already peed in the empty box.

I am still not used to that though, had these 2 little ones almost 2 weeks, and I am not used to having a kitty supervise. Suzie didnt care when I did it, as long as it got done.

Yup...sometimes Whitey will turn it into a game. He'll hunker down on the outside of the box and as the scooper is coming towards him he'll pounce at the corner.

It's quite silly.

He'll also supervise the distribution of the litter by sticking his paw in the stream pouring out of the box and swat at it.

sugar and spice do that all the time as well.

I too have some "kitty quality control" at the litterbox. They hear me digging around in there and they have to watch.

Then Bella gets in. Sometimes she doesn't even wait for me to finish cleaning. Stan will walk around to the back of the box and look over the side. It's like he's saying "you missed a spot"

Oh yes! Wherever they are in the house, they come running to supervise my efforts. And then immediately use the litter box, as if saying "thank goodness, Mom, we really needed to go bad..." Sophie is a diligent "cover upper" and will spend alot of time scratching her pile of litter - very often right over the side of the box! And of course I tell her what a wonderful girl she is for being so clean!

Ms Queen Aurora is always there. As soon as I am done, she must be the first one to use it. God knows, you must have a clean box for the queen

Kitters will watch from a distance, but as soon as it's back in place with her lid on and we walk away from it, she is in it and using it. Like she held it the whole time and had to really go!!!

My kitties always used the box as soon as it was cleaned.

My DH is in charge of the boxes here. My older two will come running from anywhere in the house doing anything to supervise as soon as they hear the lids come off!! Silly kitties, someone is messing with their stuff.

Pepper has not figured out the routine yet, at 12 weeks she would rather play then watch daddy do the boxes!

Yup!! Every time. Then they jump in and use it........

I know about the jumping in and using it. Spice will get in and move the litter around, as if in prep of using it, or searching to see if I missed a spot. Heck as I am doing it, they are trying to get into the bag, to see what is going in it. Sheeesshhhhhh. Always takes a bit to do that for them, but then they get hugssss and kissesssss.

Oh yes, but then everything that goes on in the bathroom seems to be a group activity over here. Even my uh... personal potty use is monitored closely. Although I discovered that if I want to clean their litter in peace I just need to do it when they're eating dinner, because food takes priority even over bathroom supervision.

not here, they will stop eating nad come running, tried that. ONly way I can get no supervision is to close the door where their litterboxes are.

Ahh, that doesn't work over here. I get little kitty paws crammed under the door and angry sounds from the other side. And evil glares when I open up the door....

Me too, they even went so far as to try and get a hold of the bag that I was using to clean the litterboxes out with, and poked a hole in it. Had to use a second bag to hold it all. But as for the looks, they look at me, and I just carry on with what I have to do, and all is forgotten once they investigate.
