Hi y'all, my companion is Mickey, a very lovable but strange at times, cat.
15 years ago, I bought her mother, a halfbreed seal point Siamese at the age of 3 months. I was going to get her spayed, but the week before she was scheduled to see the vet, she got knocked up, or so I found out when the vet took a look at her before the operation. So I dutifully took on the role as father, and she had 7 kittens on my living room couch; I wasn't going to budge her.
Mickey was the runt of the litter, came so late that I was sure there were going to be just six of them, but she struggled out at the last minute.
Because her older brothers and sisters were bigger, she had a hard time getting any teat, so I would nudge them away for the first week or so to give her a chance. At a week old, she was still soooo small, just fit in the palm of my hand.
After her eyes opened, I would put her on my chest when I was in my recliner, (she still sleeps on my chest every night) and feed her from a doll baby bottle for a bit, then put her back with her mother when the others sacked out so she could get some more there.
I didn't have a lot of room in my house for all of them, so I gave the other six away, and kept Mickey and her mother.
I named her Mickey because when she was born, till about 3 months old, she had black ears and a white face, so reminded me of Mickey Mouse. Now she is pure white all over.
When Mickey was about 3 months old, her mother disappeared; I don't know what ever happened to her. I lived next to a large woods, and I let them roam whenever they wanted. Whether Tinuviel got in a fight with a wild cat or other varmint, or what ever, I don't know.
Sooo, for the past 14 years, it's been Mickey and me.
I have no idea who her father was, I never saw any Persians around the neighborhood, and don't know who her grandfather was either. In any case, she didn't retain any characteristics of her mother whatsoever; though Tinuviel was half Siamese, she looked pure Siamese. Mickey has no Siamese traits at all, it's rather strange; but I love her.
