We made Peppurr, our 1 year old DSH male, an appointment to get neutered and vaccinated. He is going in tomorrow at 9:20AM. His shots include, Feline Leukemia, Feline Panleukopenia, Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calcivirus,Feline Chlamydiosis, Giardiasis and Rabies. Peppurr gets all of this done for only $60.00! I never imagined a vet could be so cheap. We found one very close to our house today. I am told that the vet is very good. I am so happy now that we can afford to get all of our furbabies done! I will keep you posted on Peppurr!

P.S
Thanks to everyone who convinced me that I MUST take my cats to the vet. My goal now is to get all my cats fixed, vaccinated and have check-ups every 6 months! Thank-you!!

Here is Peppurr...

I was just wondering...
Is it true that if a cat eats before surgery, it will vomit and die?
I heard that somewhere. I locked Peppurr into my room with no food or water. I feel really bad since he loves food so much!

Vader - don't give any food 12 hours before surgery (i.e, the night before). Take the water away from Peppurr in the morning.

It's true, they can vomit and suffocate. They do the same to humans too. On my numerous trips for operations they withold food and water. Having nothing to drink is far worse that having nothing to eat.

Peppurr will be fine - he might get a little anxious, but ultimately it will do him no harm.

Good luck with the op!

It's 8:27 AM. Only 53 minutes until Peppurr's first surgery. He seems to know that he's going somewhere because he's being so darn affectionate. Like he's saying "Please don't make me go mom!"

Good luck with the vet. Let us know how Peppurr does, althought I am sure he will be fine. That is a great deal cost wise for everything he's getting done. Wish I could find one like that for my kitties.

Peppurr is at the vet! He is going to be in there until 5:00 tonight. They are tattooing him as well. I'll post as soon as the little angel comes home!

That's great!

I know when Socks came home, she seemed a little antisocial at first, but then she forgave me and was a little love bunny, as if to say "Okay, you paid them to do this to me, now you will compensate with kitty kisses"!

Peppurr is home! He is eating and walking around. He has a little trouble jumping, but other than that he's fine. I have already noticed a change in his behaviour. He is nicer and doesn't care about bugging any other cats! Thanks for all your support!
