Hi!

My name's Cindy. I'm a newcomer here, joined yesterday morning. This is a great site, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you!

I'm the proud mom of a 15-year-old rescued kitty, Frosty (she's apparently a cross between a bluepoint Siamese and a tabby; I don't know for sure since she was abandoned by a local bike trail when she was only about 10 days old, in October 1991). I also have a featherkid, a rescued conure named Pumpkin.

My user name is SinbadsMom in honor of my furry soulmate Sinbad (a female cat), who shared my life here on Earth from June 1986 to February 2003. I have another Bridgekid, my tabby Tiger (also a female kitty, a rescued feral), who was with me from October 1991 to April 2005.

I still haven't checked the instructions for posting photos carefully enough, so I'm just going to post a link to a small collage of my kids, which I might rearrange later for a sig:

I've had the user name SinbadsMom for four years now, first using it at Petloss.com, a grief support site, where I was a moderator on the message board for more than three years. I left Petloss.com last July, and last August created The Lighthouse, a new grief support site for people who've lost pets (our members post about human loved ones they've lost, too, of course, and the pets still here with them -- their Earthkids -- and pet care, rescue, etc.). to anyone here I know from those sites!

I love all animals, but most especially the purry furry ones. It seems odd these days to have only one kitty sharing my life, but I'm a caregiver now and with my mom's health worries and occasional hospitalizations, bringing a new kitty into our home hasn't seemed very doable. My furkid and featherkid sorta/kinda get along, though...

I love hearing about pets and seeing photos of them, so this site is a treat -- including those beautiful sigs people have!

Hi welcome to TCS, this is such a great site and everyone here is soo friendly also this site can be informative and fun I know what u mean thats its hard to just have one furkid we have 6 all rescues of some sort here and we also have 2 labs, 2 guniea pigs, and a rabbit I cant wait to see pics of ur kittie tho, we photos here. I am also sorry for the loss of your 2 bridge kitties !!! Well see u around the forums

to TheCatSite and we are so glad you're here! You sound like a wonderful meowmy to all of your beloved furbabies and to Pumpkin as well -- and like "our kind of folks". Your beautiful Sinbad looks a lot like our sweet Mehndi, who is currently in sanctuary in Canada due to my unwanted divorce and impending forced relocation from our beautiful desert acreage to an urban house with stupid municipal quotas...

We have the care of a human loved one in common as well -- for me, it's my father, in assisted living but I make all the decisions for/affecting him. It's a fulltime job and fraught with stress, but I love my dad and try to do the best I can for him.

All 9 felines are rescued, indoor-only and spayed/neutered of course! They are my sunshine, and I couldn't get along without them.
