Yup, well as I expected...I can't sleep.

I've been trying to do some research and I can't find anything at all about Parrots getting tumors in their throats. Not a single thing. So, in a way it kind of gives me hope. Maybe its not a tumor. A cyst would definitely be easier to treat I think.

If it is a tumor, thats really scary, but it would mean that we would surely be accepted to LSU vet school, b/c its a rare case.
But then what are Fred's chances if that is the case?

I'm incredibly anxious, I'm incredibly scared. Josh may be selling his outstanding collection of Michael Jordan Basketball cards that he has been collecting since he was a kid to pay for all of this. That totally breaks my heart. I know they are just things and Fred means more to us than anything material that we own, but it still breaks my heart to see him part with them when there is a huge chance that he still may not survive. We really don't have any other way to afford it though, and since I lost most all of my stuff in my house fire about four years ago, I don't own anything of value except my wedding rings.

We have a care credit card that we could use, but I highly doubt that the college would accept that.
Although it would be great if they could, or at least set us up on some kind of payment plan if I put down a payment in the beginning. I'm just so totally stressed out.

I hate not knowing. Not knowing if we're going yet or not, not knowing what Fred's chances are, not knowing if he's suffering, not knowing how we are ever going to pay for it all....

I'm losing my mind I swear. Thanks for letting me vent.

A small victory, but it may be enough to get me to sleep sometime tonight!!

I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner, but I checked on carecredit.com and it said that LSU Vet school accepts care credit!!

You guys have no idea how much hope this gives me!!

So now, if I get accepted down there, I'll only have to pay for a hotel, gas and food up front!!!!!!! That is awesome.

Woo. Okay. I feel a little better now. Maybe I can go to sleep.

I do hope that you were able to get some rest,

I am sending special hugs and prayers from Mississippi for you, Josh, and Fred

You can probably pay for the hotel, gas, and some food with your credit card if you have to also.

Please let us know when you hear something.

Thanks guys!

Still no news, I'm hoping to hear something very soon.

If no one has called in a couple of hours, I'm going to call to see if they know anything at all.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I didn't find anything out today. My vet couldn't get in touch with anyone down there today, apparently they were swamped, but he left messages and hopefully they will call us back first thing in the morning.
Keep praying for good news!!

Ok. Finally got some news. Not exactly good news, but news none the less.

The vets from LSU are accepting our case. Their over-the-phone diagnosis is an anurisim. Of course they can't know that without seeing him, thats just their best guess right now. Problem is, anurisims are very hard to remove because they bleed so much. Birds bleed to death very easily. So...they are going to see him either Monday or Tuesday (they are going to call back and let us know) run a ton of tests, decide what exactly it is and lay out our options.

If the probability is low of him surviving whatever it is they have to do, we will probably just have to bring him home and have him pts.

He has no chance at all without seeing these doctors though, so I've got to at least take him to be looked at. Maybe we'll end up getting lucky and it will be something that is easier to remove or treat than an anurisim.

Thanks for all of your prayers, and Belinda, for all of your help. I'll probably be leaving here sometime Sunday, or early Monday morning and Josh will keep you guys posted while I'm gone.

Keep praying!

Thanks ya'll TCS folks really are the best!

I just heard back from the vets again. Fred has an appointment at 1:30 on Monday with the vets at LSU. Its about an 8 hour drive with stops, so I'm going to leave here about 4 am-ish Monday morning. I guess we'll take it from there when we see what they have to say.

I wil be thinking about you on Monday afternoon, please be careful driving down there.

Like I said before I have always heard nothing but the best about the vets at LSU vet school, and I am not just saying that because it is LSU that you are going too. I really have heard nothing but good about them. I hope that after they see Fred they will be able to fix whatever is wrong with him.

Please tell Josh to keep us posted on what is happening.
