Another problem I need help with.
I just got momma cat last night at about 5:30. She eats like she's starving and looks like she's been starved. She's been in the litter box, but I didn't find anything when I scooped it just now. No pee and no poop. Should I be concerned yet? As I said, she is starving and she is also nursing 4 little ones so is it possible her body's just using it all up?

If she's eating and drinking then she should be peeing and pooping, but if it isnt going in then it wont be coming out. WHat kind of litter are you using? Also if you brought her in from the outside she may not be even used to the concept of a box....

Actually we finally got a "load" tonite!
(not something I'm normally happy about, but in this case...it goes without saying).
I'm not sure if she's peed because I got rid of the clumping litter cause of the kittens. She did finally go though so I feel much better.
And as far as her coming from outside - even though she did come from outdoors, without a DOUBT she was someone's kitty at one time because she wants so many scritches, purrs like a motor, I can play with her ears, with her feet, anything.
You can't even do that with some house cats. So she definitely belonged to someone at one time who obviously "discarded" her because she was pregnant.

I am glad that she finally went to the bathroom.

I love to hear cats purr, I always say that their motor is running.
