Ok, I am really sorry to bug you guys again but I need your opinions on Hopey's eye colour.

Ok so the Standard of Points (Perfection in the US) in the GCCF call for eyes to be "Eyes: Oriental in shape and slanting towards the nose, but with width between. Colour brilliant blue, the deeper the better. They should not be deep set. The haws should not cover more than the corner of the eye."

So here are some pictures of Hopey's eyes:

Here is one of Mica's for comparison, her Breeder told me her eyes are too light

So what do you guys think?? I think they are still too light but I'll be sure to check next show I go to.

Thank you again!

Who's eye color is too light? Hope or Micca?

I like Hope's eye color - it might get a little darker as she gets older, but it is NOT light IMO. I've seen some siamese that had the deep blue-purple eye color, but not all siamese are like that.

Micca's is on the light side. But if either are to be bred, then go with a male that has the deepest eye color you can find

I think the lighter point colors might have a bit lighter in shade. The one that had blue-purple was a seal point.

Mica's breeder told me that Mica's eyes are too light. Mica is neutered as she is my pet and it was not the right circumstances to breed when she was a kitten.

I love Hope's eyes but I have seen darker so I was worried judges would find them too light. I guess the Standards are the ideal but no cat will fit them exactly as no cat is perfect

Mica is a Lilac Point and Hopey is a Chocolate Tortie Tabby Point

Thanks GK! I am really glad you like Hopey's eyes

Like I said, the darker points have darker eyes. The one boy is a seal lynx point, so his are a bit darker. There's nothing wrong with Hope's eye color.

I think Hopey's eyes are spectacular! I am just trying to get myself used to judges uncriticizing her and what they might say. The last thing I would want to do is get upset that would be so unprofessional. I would be so embarrassed

Thank you for all your help and your compliments on Hopey! Its very encouraging coming from some one who's opinion I respect

I heard the GCCF supreme show will be on April 29th - is that right? I know that Hopey can't be shown under GCCF but that would be a great show for you to do a recce and check out eye colours!

I derem't comment on Hopey's eyes, they look great to me, but I'm no expert on Balinese eye colours!

I have entered Hopey in a show on the 14/15 April we will only go for one day, don't want to overwhelm her. Lets see how it goes!

I think Hopey's eye's are incredible. I rarely get to see those brilliant blue eyes in my cats. Only when we produce a seal lynx point.

You have my best wishes for a successful show!

Thank you so much!

I am trying to go to the Sunday show (I booked for Saturday) because Mica's breeder will be showing that day. If I can we will try to be benched together. If it works out it will be such a relief to have an exprienced breeder (and a good friend) there with me.

Always nice to be benched with someone you know
You also can look out for each other's cats when you need to go to the bathroom.

Our first show with Charlie as a surprise benching. I didn't know anyone in the CFA show - but turned out that we got benched next to the couple that shows ACFA - I kinda knew the name, but didn't know them personally - turned out he was the Regional Director in ACFA....lol
