We have quite a bit of urban wildlife. It isn't unusual to have deer, javelina and bears wandering into people's yards. We had such a drought, they came in to drink from swimming pools, garden ponds and tree wells.
About a mile from my house, in midtown, is a herd of javelina, living in a wash in the middle of an upscale housing development.
Coyotes are a common sight, too. Of all the wildlife, they have adapted the best, to urban life. They live on garbage, pet food left out and the occasional small pet. Every few years, Animal Control has to go out and trap and euthanize, due to rabies outbreaks.
