Hi , I have a 1 yr old kitty, named "Bob Marley" he is a Tonkanese. My daughter has a 4 yr old Flame Point Siamese ,named Princess Candy Ann. When Bob Marley came into the house Princess Candy Ann fell in love with him. They play and she cleans him. They never fight or act ugly to each other, except when play time gets a bit rough. My question, Princess Candy Ann is moving with her Human Mother. I would like to get another Tonkanses, for Bob Marley to have a play mate. Should I get a Male or a Female? Or does it matter?

No Vacancy...One on the way!
how long did they live and play together?
if Bob Marley is used to a female maybe thats his preference. Mikey only knows male kittys...so I made sure to take in another male. My moms cats were used to only females, she brougth a male in and it disrupted to home. she rehoused her male and later on adopted another female who fit in just fine. I really depends on good ole Bobs comfort.

Hi & welcome to TCS!
I don't know if it will matter if you get a male or female. Bob Marley is fairly young, so he would hopefully adapt well with whomever you bring in. He's used to being pampered, so if you get an adult, you might want to make sure you get someone who has a strong nurturing side!

and a warm welcome to you and your kit
Its great here, theres lots of help, advise and information, so you´ve come to the right place
I dont think it matters either way, Bob Marley is young enough to settle with another buddie, so just go for it

Once you get settled, maybe you could post some photos of Bob Marley...
oooo and we´d love to see Candy Ann too, maybe you could see if your daughter would also like to join us here

Anyway, glad you joined us and enjoy the forums !

I don't know whether the gender of a new kitty will matter. Tolstoy had never lived with another kitty when he came to be with us - now he and Lily are inseparable. Lily takes all-comers and makes friends with anyone. I think it really depends whether the kitty will take to other kitties and how the introduction process is handled.

Welcome Bob Marley, Princess Candy Ann, and Debooth06,

to TheCatSite and we don't know the answer to your question -- maybe someone else onsite has opinions on that, we just want every cat to have a loving forever home!
and as you can see, we believe in big families here because of that fact -- but we LOVE the name of your Tonk boy.
There was a Marley in our family, too -- she was Princess Marley, a gorgeous classic tabby longhair with ice-green eyes and Attitude, who went over the Rainbow Bridge a few years back. She was named for the King, too -- actually she was adopted at a memorial concert for him right after he passed. Some guy had her and offered her to the guy sitting next to us. I didn't even wait -- I scooped her up and we took her home. She was later joined by Queen Simba and then by King Sunny A-Cat, and they are now all waiting for all of us over the Bridge.

We hope you soon adopt a buddy for Bob Marley and that you visit the forums frequently -- we'd love to see photos, too!
