I was just wondering if anyone knows a good bland diet for a kitten. Little Xena has diarreah and I was told to feed her a bland diet. I found a few, but they all consist of white rice and cottage cheese. Any recipe would be great!

Thanks.

The only bland diet that I know of for kittens is the chicken and rice. I know they sell prescription diets for this, but if it's temporary, the "real" food is just fine.

I hope this relates: recently we began fostering a great dane puppy, and he had diarrhea due to being on very strong antibiotics. We added a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese to each meal, and this helped bunches. If this is okay for kittens, maybe a teaspoon or tablespoon would be a similar amount by weight.

See if your kitty likes canned pumpkin - the fiber should also help with the soft stool!!

Chicken & rice is great - cook the rice in the water you cook the chicken in. That way the rice absorbes the flavor from the chicken!!

Good Luck!
