.

(Translate: No matter how well are the verbs conjugated, the really most important is the will that you put to try another language!
, but also only with a bit of time you can have fluency on write and of course to speak!)

okay, shoot me!
Hola Profesor! Buenos diaz!

(I think the fonts that have accents and the n with the tilde and maybe vowels with the umlaut)

Podemos entenderte sin estos!
(We can understand you without them)

I do this n~ and if I could remember where accents went I would put them as an apostrophe after the vowel... in my papers I do it correctly but just to practice we can do that I think right? Mooficat's accents show up slanting the wrong way on my screen, so I think there might be problems with the fonts anyway

Como estan todos?
(How are you all?)

Me encanta!

(This morning I fell twice because there's ice everywhere. The weather channel said we had freezing fog here. When I left my house, I fell and then I fell again and my breakfast flew out of my hand. A cute boy stopped to help me up though, so it's not all bad

A few minutos ago, I got my birthday present from my sister. (My birthday was Sunday) and I love it!)

Glad you had fun!

The letter enye, which was explained how you could get around, but the inverted ! and ? need to be in the font, and the most important thing is the accent mark which can totally change the meaning of words so is necessary to convey the proper meaning. For instance, the word si does not mean yes and I cannot use the word for yes because I have no way of putting the accent over the i. However, I do have Spanish fonts in Windows and I know there is a way of loading these for selection even when in a forum like this. I have seen some of our Mexican friends here use these fonts so I know it can be done. Perhaps they will share with us how to do this or maybe I will figure it out, because I can select this font for emails. In fact, DW is Persian and we have Persian fonts that can be selected for her emails, I just do not know how to use them with TCS. Wow, I just figured out how to switch over to Persian while on TCS. I have just used the Persian font and it works in TCS. All I have to do is click on the tool bar to change fonts. DW set this up for Persian, but I do not have Spanish installed on this computer. OK, I have answered my own question, just add the Spanish font from Windows at the tool bar so you can go back and forth between the two. I will get to that, but I got to find my Windows installation CD. OK, the next time I get on this thread I will have the proper font.

Como estan needs to have an accent over the a. This is my point, we need to have fonts installed to make this practical. They are on the original Windows disk, I am going to try and find mine.

Those of us that did not load the Spanish font onto their computer when Windows was installed do not have it. I am trying to find my original disk but I bet you know a place where we can all download the correct font. There is some other people on here that are already using the correct fonts. My point is, without the accent mark, what does si mean? You must have a way of distinguishing in thousands of Spanish words and they require an accent mark. So, in order for people to practice and have it mean anything, they will need the correct font.

A proposito, soy de Chile.
So, I do not need to tell you that the above sentence is incorrect because it is missing an accent mark. Italian is my first language, but that's the way it is in a large amount of Chile and Argentina.

But you knew what I meant when I said Como estan? right? Even if the grammar isn't perfect? And the difference between "if" and "yes" is pretty obvious in context... Honestly, the point of the thread is to practice Spanish, not have perfect orthography. And I don't think it's all meaningless without accent marks.

Also, this site lists the accents & you can just type them straight in TCS!

Hopefully, those will help

¡Muchas gracias! ¿Cómo estás? Ahora podemos escribir español correctamente.
This is good and easy to use (the spanish.typeit.org,) although not quite as easy to use if you had the Windows installed on your keyboard. Having attended school in Chile, Costa Rica, and México, I do not agree with those that say placement of the accent is not important as often signs in México do. For instance I just drove through Querétaro but the road sign announced Queretaro which would totally change the pronounciation. In Chile and Costa Rica you would never see the accent mark dropped like that. Nor in España, where after all, it originated. Anyway, thanks to you, people can now practice correctly if they want to since they can now easily add a quick link to the Spanish keyboard.

It was just my feeling that if everybody had the correct font available to them, this thread would be more realistic and now everybody has the option to have the correct font.

Thanks again, White Cat Lover!

Oh the Ñ letter!....
...you´re right.....and the accent yes, are necesary in some words too!...like this

english--spanish
Day======DÃ:censor:a

At least in my keyboard the Ñ appear only with hit it.... Maybe your configuration english board made that the Ñ don´t appear on your words....
Try this
write niño...( means Boy in english)
ni( in this space hit ALT and the numbers 1,6,5) and next the o and I figured should to appear the Ñ

So tell me what about happen!

It is so much easier to use the typeit.org thing that white cat lover provided. á, é, í, ó, and ú takes care of all accent problems. ¿ and ¡ take care of the reflection at the beginning of a sentence problem, ñ takes care of the missing letter problem and — takes care of the quotation mark problem. And all you have to do is type it. And I can quickly switch over to Persian سهئحمغ ذغ حعساهد غثف شدخفاثق ذعففخد خد فاث فخخم ذشق مخزشفثي شف فاث ذخففخئ خب غخعق حشلث (which DW uses), and then quickly switch back to English. All of these fonts are on the original Windows disk but if somebody else installed it for you, they probably only installed English.
