Ferris' lower belly, between his back legs, feels swollen like it has fluid in it. He isn't acting strange, and it didn't seem to hurt him when I was feeling his belly (he only bites/scratches me if I touch his belly when he's on his back.)
But I'm worried - I looked it up in my trusty vet's handbook and I have to take him in to be seen.
Big worries:
A.) I don't know how I'm going to manage to get him in a carrier...I'll have to go buy an oversized hard plastic kennel type first, one that is bigger than him. I'll never get him in the soft carrier that I brought him to the vets in when he was 3-4 months old. He's too big and strong, and he fights dirty.
B.) OMG what could it be I'm really worried that it could be FIP, and that it's just the slow start of something worse - I'm freaking myself out but can't do much about it tonight.
I'm just hoping it's something "minor" and I say that loosely, meaning, non-fatal, and non-thousands of dollars costing. WHatever it is, I have to get my boy taken care of!!!
He's playing, seems just fine, no apparent signs of jaundice or discomfort. Only issues he's had have been soft stools, which the Bene Bac has helped with.
So I'll call the vet in the morning once I'm at work, and hopefully I can get an early evening appointment within the next 48 hours, get him in and seen!
Please think good thoughts for my Ferris? He's too dang cute to be sick!
