One day old! They don't look like much now, but they're all nursing and look healthy. Gypsy's pleased with them and seems to be really happy to be a mom again. She has that "look what I did!" attitude about her.
The three lined up from her rear leg are the silvers. I couldn't get a real good picture, but the faces on all 3 are that silver/white color, so it's easy to know they are silvers. I'm pretty sure, the other 3 will be browns, the face colors are clearly brown.
This is very cool, after 10 years of breeding bengals, I'm still learning new stuff!
Teri is still grining that she finally has her silvers!

I see the difference - its a good contrast. Then the silver tabbys don't do as much color changing vs a shaded silver or smoke who is supposedly black when born and gets the silver/white undercoat. Or maybe I'm confusing the silvers and the black smokes

Congratulations, what beautiful kittens, and mum looks happy and content. Even my uneducated eye can see the difference in colour between the silvers and the browns it's that clear
Fantastic! Will you be keeping any for showing/breeding, or is it too early to tell right now?

Nial, I am in love with the babies. At our last show, we sat next to a beautiful large, Bengal, named Magic. I had spoke to my husband and told him about the beauty of your Bengals, so it was exciting for him to see one up close. I believe he Granded in that show. They were very proud of him, and he was such a bold, beautiful boy, who just put out this regal presence. My husband found out what a Bengal was that day, and just loved Magic.

We have spoke in the past of adding a neutered/spayed pet quality Bengal, but being a breeder, and focusing on being a parent, wife, and loving our Raggies. When I saw you had 2 retireds, I went yelling to my husband..."Nial, has retired adults" He is always the voice of reason, letting me have an altered cat if I want, but he wanted to also make sure I realized that this kitten or cat would need lots of love and attention, and with us being busy with our own family and cat family, that it would be best to wait. Although I don't want to agree with him, he is right. However, I do believe some year in the future, I will have a Bengal, and if Nial is still breeding, I couldn't imagine one coming from anywhere else!!

Thank you sharing the picture, I hope you continue this thread, as I would love to see the babies grow up. Do you hope to keep a kitten out of this litter, if one catches your eye?

Congratulatons on the babies, and a happy Momma!!

Nial,

Quick question...the 2 silvers in the centre look like classics and the final one looks spotted? Am I right? Which would be more show-able? The classic or the spotted???

They are all spotted, no marbles (classic) in the bunch. When they are just a day old, and scrunched up against each other and mom, it can appear as if their spots all run together.
Either pattern is equally showable, so long as they meet the breed standards.
I generally don't show marbles very often, but I see lots of very nice ones at the shows.

Oh, they are so gorgeous!!!

All baby kittens are adorable, but these really are something special, even at just a day old!!!

I love the look on Gypsy's face, too! She looks so proud!
