Viagra increases blood flow to produce the desired effect. So it makes sense that it saved this babies life. I wonder how they figured the right dose though. Either way, very cool.

Wow, that's amazing and I can understand that you'd want to do everything to save a baby. However, what people never talk about are all the health and development problems faced by premies as they grow. You just have to wonder sometimes if they try too hard to save them.

So what your saying is that when faced with opposition they should just stop trying?
My husband was a preemie. In 1969 it was vary rare for one to live. He was 3 months premature and had many health problems. Despite all odds he lived. But if you had looked at him back then I bet they thought he was a goner for sure. I'm glad they gave it their best shot because he's the best man I know.

I'm not saying they should just give up. I know if I were the parent of a premie, I'd being trying damn hard to save my baby.
All I'm saying is that people always gloss over the trouble such infants face later on in life and people have unrealistic expectations of the quality of life that that child could have as a result of being so premature. I know people who were premies too, but not that extreme. They're able to save them so much earlier these days, and I wonder what the consequences will be further on down the road.
It's the same with all these stories about multiple births. What they don't go into is how not all of them are healthy happy babies. A lot of those kids are suffering from being one of 6 in the womb - it's just not natural.
