My cat had kittens about 5 months ago and ever since the kittens have been weened, she hasn't been acting the same. She hisses and attacks the kittens if they come near here, and acts about the same way towards us. She acts really jumpy and hisses for no reason sometimes. At first we thought it was just jealousy over the kittens but now were not so sure...any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks
has she gone to the vet lately? Her reactions to her kittens now that they are weaned is perfectly normal, but unless she was hissy before the litter to you, her behavior towards you is not.
It would be a good idea to get her in to be seen and make sure all is well. It would also be kinder to her if you would get her spayed as well. You will increase her life and take away the chance she could develop certain cancers if you get her spayed. Good luck!
The last time that she was at the vet was when she had the kittens, and she was spayed then too as well because she wasn't able to have the kittens so they had to go in and remove them for her. I am going to take her to the vet soon, thanks for the advice. I hope that they can help her to not be so moody all the time, i miss the old cat u know?!
