I just wanted to thank you all for your support. Smokey, the thin baby, is doing great now!!! He is still the smallest, but he has been eating and his belly is nice and round. I think he was too cold because I put a heating pad in the cage and he slept on it non-stop and within 24 hours he started bouncing back and eating! He wouldn't take the bottle, but he would drink out of the water dish on his own. So I emptied the water and poured in a small amount of kitten formula.....he drank it!!!! He is going to make it!!!!

I have another question though. All of my babies seem to have diarrea. They are eating and drinking and playing and don't seem sick. Do you think it is from the new food I bought. I bought cases of 9 lives soft food and give it to them 2 times per day. I also have dry Iams kitten food which is provided at all times. Should I stop with the wet food?

Thanks!

I would try a little higher quality canned than what you are currently feeding if you can swing it ... Nutro is good and most kittens tolerate it very well. If the diarrhea is persistant, try boiling a little chicken meat (no bones, seasoning or salt - just water) and mixing it with a little long-cooking white rice to bind things up some. Cook the rice and chicken separately, but save back the water from the chicken. Once cooled, mix the chicken/rice and a little of the saved water into a bowl and offer that to the kittens. It works every time.

Once you've got em on the high quality stuff, don't switch around on them too often... sometimes a change in food can cause upset.

How are they know. I had a Runtz from my litter also and guess what she is now the pretiest petite kitten I have seen. I mixed KMR powder in to there food just a little when they started solids and then weaned them from there. Do you weight them. If not go to wal mart get the food scales it works great
