For those that have a myspace account this question is for you.

I have recently signed up for myspace and have a handful of friends. I do not like that they can't talk to you before you add them to your friends list. So, I accepted one person and all she ever says to me is to get me to sign up for a click to make money site. I just deleted her message the first time and ignored it. This time she did it again so I deleted the friendship. This isn't the only time. There was another that send pornographic spam and I deleted it immediately.

Is there anything I can do? Such as turn them in? Or should I just continue to delete the membership when their intentions is evident.

Don't add them as a friend. Within 24 hours the owners/mods of myspace will delete the account. Sometimes in just a few hours.

But how do I know that they will spam w/o adding them to the friends list first?

How about just adding people you know, those who have a real profile, or if you have them on there for a little bit and don't talk to them, then delete them!

Change your password too!

I don't know many people. I wasn't popular in school. I was a bit weird to them.

Why would I need to change my password?

Just to be on the safeside change your password in case the spammer was trying to hack your account. I look at the profiles and If I have no clue who they are, I don't allow them as a friend. Actually if they don't send me a message I don't add them. I don't understand why people ask to be added as a friend yet never message you a note. :censor::censor::censor:

Actually I've tried to message before adding as friend and it won't let me. So I just figured that's why. And I did look at her profile. It looked normal. Not that of a spammer and it wasn't new so she's been at it for awhile at least.

If they send you a message/post a bulletin with a link in it and you click on it, and it takes you to a thing that looks just like the myspace page when you log out, don't put in your name and password. It will steal your password. Here's a link for more information (there's more on google, including an article by the Washington Post).

For awhile now, hackers have been able to get into your account and post those same things under your account on your friends profiles- and they only way to get rid of them is to change your password. I would do that just to be on the safe side.

I dont' add anyone that I don't know, to be on the safe side.

I've always been able to send people a message w/o adding to my friends list. I just did it the other day. Go to the person's page, and in their "contact me" box, click on, "message", it'll send you to a box to type in. I never add someone I don't know. If you deny someone you don't recognize and it ends up really being a friend, they'd let you know
In messages sent to you, in the upper right hand corner of the message you are reading is a link to report that message as either inappropriate, or spam. When you click that, it automatically sends to the myspace people to check out AND deletes from your inbox.

Nope. Here's what I get.

Error: You must be someone's friend to make comments about them.
