I need to know the best way to store poo for a vet appointment tomorrow.
With so many cats in the house I don't often get an opportunity to bring in a sample, but got lucky today.

Should it be refrigerated or not?

(Tried searching, but too many to go through with inexact results.) I'm taking the easier softer way out.

Thanks Sicycat! I just ran across a post while searching that said store in fridge, but it didn't say anything about time limit. It will be stored less than 24 hours.

I think my little Sassy may have another bacterial infection.

According to my vet, the time limit is two hours unrefrigerated and six hours refrigerated.

Well shoot!

If that's the case then I'll be taking in expired poo. I think they usually have pretty good luck getting a swab though so I'll just hope for the best whatever they use.
