I don't like going out on valentines day there is too many people. We made swiss chalet chicken (using their marinade bought at the grocery store) with mashed potatoes with swiss chalet gravy and broccoli and cheese sauce.

We decided to do it another night. Too icey out there and the wind is unbelievable. DH is making potato pancakes from our left-overs. He just surprised me and told me he has off tomorrow

Not me. My husband is a chef and he is actually out cooking dinner for six couples in someones home. Didn't even leave me a taste.
I am settling down with a frozen dinner soon.

Bought some nice steaks for a winter bbq. Mashed potatoes, beets and Broccoli. We'll finish watching The Wire season1, which we rented for the week. Cheaper than going out, plus i like my steaks the best over any restaurant. Have a nice bottle of wine to go with.
Eating late!

I spent this morning, this afternoon, and late tonight up to my ears in flowers. We didn't go anywhere when i got off work. I was in a ton of pain (foot problems - my old podiatrist screwed up my foot and now i need surgery to fix it!
) But when i got home- Colin had made me dinner
So that was sooo nice not to have to cook tonight!
He made spaghetti
But hey- it was still good
I would have loved a night out on the town but that was just impossible today. Florists never get personal time during valentines. We might do something tomorrow since i have the day off then

He dumped a can of "ragu's momma's meat sauce" onto spaghetti
but hey, i didn't have to cook and it was yummy
We decided we'd go get some dinner tomorrow night instead. I've gotten sort of used to never having a valentines to myself anymore. Been that way since i got my design lisence a few years back. I usually celebrate the day before or the day after. We sold out the ENTIRE department tonight...lol i think we definitely exceded our sales goal
so that was good.

Oh you wanna hear something funny
Last night while he was on duty (he's temporarily working nights - he's a cop) he stopped by around 2:30 in the morining while i was watching tv getting ready for bed. Since it was after midnight i said "Happy Valentines Day Sweetie!" and he just had this stunned look on his face and was like- uhh it's not valentines day -that's not till tomorrow. I was like "umm no sweetie- i'm a florist - i know these things - it's definitely valentines day."
When I woke up this morning there was a box of chocolates and candy on the table with a card
I'm thinking he went to Walgreens in the middle of the night
Bless his heart though- he tried
He's a good guy.I made chocolate covered strawberries a little while ago to suprise him with when he gets off work. / (he got his gift this morning
a really nice brugo coffee mug) One of these days though i'm hoping he learns not to wait till the last minute...lol....he's yet to figure out that humm....maybe a florist would like to get flowers on valentines day too
he's got me flowers once the entire time we've been dating
It's ok though i still love him

We eent out before visiting SIL in hospital. Went to a local brewpub-I had Champagne and Lobster Ravioli. Neil had Chicken Saltimboca and we split a piece of Red Velvet cake for dessert. Yummy!! The restaurant gave all the ladies a red carnation too (I gave mine to my SIL).
