I just dropped a potato chip...2 large dogs, Dory, Ophelia, & Molly all dove for it!
I got it first & threw it away...

Free for all... Puff normally does a nose dive for it. Oh and beware when you jiggle a bag that sounds like his food because he thinks everything in bags are his!

same here, but they usually win (4 against 1 are not great odds)

well, i voted for number 2 - because even if the food is investigated, it's usually left alone!

My girls won't touch it at all. Don't even move a tail or ear most of the time for food drops. Now my Mom's dogs are about 2mm away from you when cooking in case of food drops!

How did you gusy get your cats to not dive for the food? Ophelia ripped into my arm & made me bleed when I picked up the chip!

I said free for all because it doesn't even have to drop on the floor. My Jordan believes all food is his. As proof I got bit in the lip once while eating Beef Jerky. As put the jerky in my mouth Jordan grabed at it with his mouth got the jerky & my lip. My only choice was to let go of the Jerky. Now that's not a normal occurance, but I've gotten my fingers bit a few times as he trys to steel food out of my hand.

I had to vote free for all.
If anything drops three of our four cats are right there to inspect...Annabelle is the only one who doesn't come to check it out.
Gracie usually wins and gets to eat whatever it is that falls.
Elliott is the youngest, but Gracie is the smallest and quickest.
I usually just let her have it, I don't want to pull back a bloody stump

Mine won't eat anything I drop on the floor- they aren't into human food.

Eh. Usually it gets picked up and thrown away. Sometimes, if the floor has been recently washed, a certain human male will eat it

Gracie will go for some things, but the boys leave it alone completely, or sniff then leave.

I voted free for all.... But the food rarely hits the floor.... Jake is known to sit right next to anyone with food and he gets it before it even lands

it doesn't even have to drop on the floor. if you aren't guarding it with your life luxor will dive into your plate and/or bat the food everywhere so you have to pick up a huge mess and luxor and stoli hopefully will get at least a piece.

OK, so I should've added a 5th option..."I eat litter toast"!

Well when i'm eating, I have 2 dogs and at least 2 cats watching me. Apollo usually always gets it. He will go to the point of shoving a cat out of the way with his muzzle, then gobbling it down.

Though if the dogs aren't around one of the kitties will eat it.. they aren't picky.

I give it to the dog. He's like a living Hoover.
