You could ask one of them how many gates are present. The angel would have to say two as this is the truth. The Devil would have to say another number than two, as he has to lie. (then cross your fingers that there isn't a hidden gate that you don't know aboout).
Is the pilot not the same one who is in the fighter bomber plane?

If you asked the angel, they'd say "Heaven"
