Dear All,

Snowy passed away this morning in the loving arms of my mother. He began to become restless according to my mom before 5.50am, after which started to retch heavily. I quickly began to prepare his medication for vomiting and placed it near my mom with a syringe of clean water for drinking once he's done vomitting. When he stopped, my mom asked me if it was time to give him the medication. I asked her to wait to give Snowy a bit of time to catch his breath.

When I thought he's done, I put my hand under his chin to comfort him when he suddenly began to breathe heavily at abt 2 secs' interval. I knew inside that his time was almost coming. Approaching almost 5.58am, he began to retch very heavily. As he was lying on his side, I quickly sensed it was not a natural position for a cat so I quickly asked my mom to support his chest and positioned him as if he was standing. He finally gave his last heave and then he was gone. The time was 5.58am (+8hrs GMT).

I began to cry a bit. While I noticed that he was already gone, my mom thought he was still alive. She craddled him in her arms for the next 20 min and asked a few times if he was alright before she finally asked me if "his eyes were opened". I had to break the news to her that he "had slept again". This was when it hit her and she began to cry. Snowy was like a child to her so I could understand her.

After we wrapped his body in a piece of white cloth, my mother and I began to clear all of his medications, bedding, food and shower things. All these went into the bin. It's now 8.22am (+8hrs GMT). We're waiting for a family friend to call us to notify when the grave hole will be ready. My mom planned this in advance.

My neighbour, who was very close to Snowy (used to feed him grass) woke up at 7am to pay him his last respect. She cried too.

My mom lost a child this morning. I lost a loving companion. I spent 9.5 weeks taking him to the vets, visiting him almost daily when he was hospitalised and sourcing the appropriate diet for him. Another life's chapter has closed.

In loving memory of Snowy (Mar 2000 - Feb 2007),

Nita

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Snowy.

I am sending hugs and prayers from Mississippi for you and your mom.

Please know that Snowy is playing at the bridge now, and he is not sick anymore, he is healthy now.

I am very sorry to read you post, but I would like to say that I felt very calm and touched by how you described Snowy's crossing
You obviously loved him dearly and gave him all the love and care he needed right until his last moment with you - at that is a wonderful and precious thing
You will have some special memories and in time those memories will surely make you smile again

RIP Sweet Snowy, enjoy your time over the Bridge, there are some special kitties waiting to play with you

look down now and then, the love from below will always be there

Condolences to your mom, neighbor and you on your sad loss of Snowy. He was surrounded by so much love, and that love will never die. Indeed, it shines upward to Heaven, where Snowy happily plays with other kitties and children who have also crossed Rainbow Bridge. You will see him again, and this time there will be no good-bye.
