Hello everyone. My boyfriend and I took in my grandmother's kitten (about 10-12 weeks old) yesterday morning as she can longer care for him. He's playful, loving, and a joy to have living with us, but we noticed he hasn't left any presents for us. We've seen him use it for #1, but that's it. I've searched online, thinking it might be constipation, but all the articles I've read say the symptioms would be lack of appetite, crying while attempting to go to the bathroom, vomitting and a mood resembling depression. We've also looked and sniffed around the apartment, thinking he may just not be going in the litterbox, but no luck. He's been eating and playing like a growing kitten. Should we be worried? Do cats not do #2 as often as we thought?

Any and all input and advice will be appreciated.

I'd wait a little longer. You can feed him a little butternut squash. Is his belly swollen? You could try rubbing his belly to see if he has gas. If he hasn't gone by tomorrow take him into the vet.

If you are worried me might have pooped under the couch or something, I would confine him (I hope you are already for such a young kitten) but I would confine him to one room for awhile with his food and water and toys and litterbox. See if he poops then.
