Hello there
My name is Sabrina and here is my story....
I was born and raised in St. Joseph Michigan. In 1998 I got married. My husband was in the US Navy, and we soon found ourselves being sent to live in Sicily. We were only allowed to bring 2 pets with us. So I took our dog, and one of my three cats. I left the other 2 with my mother, since I was moving out of her home and they lived with me there. Recently my mom lost her job, and she must now sell the house. She cannot take my 2 cats with her when she moves. I love these cats so much, and I want them very much, but they are (in my opinion) too old to fly, or I would fly them over here right now.
My mom is threating to either put them to sleep or take them to the humane society. She will not take them to the vet, even though I am willing to pay for it?! So here is what I am asking... can you can help me? I am lookinf someone who would be willing to watch these 2 sweeties for about a year. I will be back in Aug 2002, and I will take them at that time. I am willing to pay for all vet, food and litter...etc. No problem, I just desperatly need a home for them, a good indoor home.
The cats names are Kitty and Carmel. Kitty is about 14 years old. He is a grey tabby, very friendy and overweight (25-30 lbs), he is very cute with his six toes. He also is very smart, I have taught him how to sit, shake and beg! He is neutered, but not declawed. I am afraid he doesnt have much time left, and I want to make that time as special as I possibly can, he is my best friend. Carmel is about 11 or so, he is carmel and white in color, loves to talk to you, very affectionate, and again pretty big (20-25 lbs). Carmel knows how to sit, and will beg when he wants to, LOL. He is also fixed but not declawed. Carmel has 3 little black dots on his nose, and is so sweet. I love that he talks to me. He was the one I always told my problems to. They are both very old , and very large boys. They are both litter box trained, and very loving. Neither have not seen a vet in probably 5 years or so, but as far as I can tell are healthy, and free of fleas and diseases. I really want them to see a vet though, as soon as possible.
My mom is saying that the cats only have 2 more weeks with her (until MAy 8th) :O( I think I can extend that time, but I am tring for in the next 2 weeks. I feel so sad, I want to go home so bad, but it is impossible. I miss my cats so much, I grew up with these guys, had them since I was a child, and my mom just wants to get rid of them, breaks my heart. I am willing to do whatever it takes to take care of them. If I have to I will fly them over here, that is if they are healthy enough. But I would prefer they be fosted for the next year in a nice loving enviroment.. Kitty and Carmel are indoor/outdoor cats now, but they will need to be kept indoors. They have lived in the same house all their lives, I think they would try to go home if let outside.
