Ohhhhhh....isn't that sweet!

I told him "if you ever get me flowers again, I will have to kill you". Poor Trout.
OH GOD! NO! Poor Trout! I had no idea! Damn men!

Okay well it wasn't a valentines day gift, but it was a Christmas gift from a boyfriend.

He bought me a hemp jacket and a bong for Christmas! I didn't even smoke weed!! lol..

What was he thinking?

I am LOVING the completely random Valentines gifts!!!! DH and I don't really go for the presents thing - we usually save the cash and go for a nice meal instead.

My ex husband was the king of the rubbish present...................
#1 A vacuum cleaner
#2 An iron
#3 A tumble dryer
#4 A sewing machine

..........I began to see a pattern here..................

Yeah, I see why he is an ex!
Of course, there is nothing wrong with a good dryer...at least he didn't get you a new clothes line.

Nothing says love like a demonic horse and his rider.
I have read all the other posts here sofar and this one just cracks me up still!

No unusual gifts to report on my part, but heck, we're still together after all these years so he's still got time I guess.

It was a really weird moment. After I opened the box all I could do was laugh. I mean what could I say?

I have never really gotten anything weird. My boyfriend usually gets nice things for me. Last year I got a stuffed monkey that was made for kids, but it was really cute. That is probably the weirdest thing I have ever gotten.

This is a l-o-o-o-ng time ago, but my S.O. (at the time) gave me the most beautiful 1st Valentine's Day - first, roses and gourmet chocolates delivered to me, then dinner in a private dining room in a lovely restaurant, more floweres, champagne and beautiful lingerie from very expensive store....
NEXT YEAR...

a belt that his Mother picked out a belt for me (it was too small), flowers with the wrong gift card (at this time he was also dating another woman and the florist switched the cards) and finally a humidifier, because he thought my apt was too dry...
and amazlingly, I continued to date him for several more years (things never got much better)

My husband, breaking the afore mentioned rule of not buying me things that plug in, bought me a humidifier for my birthday.

He really doesn't have a clue.

Hmmm, that may be so but at least he's trying.

I don't like the idea of 'wish lists' but maybe its something y'all should try with your guys. The hubby has always had our kids do this for xmas or birthday. I've never liked the idea because I like being surprised when I receive something. But heck, if y'all aren't enjoying your 'surprises'
, maybe giving him a couple of ideas
or hints might be in order...not too romantic I'm sure...but maybe these guys just need a little encouragement by way of subtle hints.

I know that the wish list idea may not be popular, but in my case I have to have it.

God knows I don't want to end up with another lamp.

I've told DH not to get me flowers any more. We've been fortunate that no one has been seriously ill, but flowers always end up cat puke (not even close to being romantic).

First, I forgot to mention that my roses (year 2, with the wrong gift card) were left in an unheated entryway. I didn't discover them till the next day, so in addition to a card meant for another woman(that S.O. wrote) the roses were frozen black and dead!

As for wish lists -I have never done well with those. It's like...I give a VERY specific list of movies that I want, or a book, whatever and what he sees -is "movie", "book"...I know it is the thought that counts, but don't ask me for suggestions and then just ignore them!

Last year for Valentine's day my now-ex got me a set of white bed sheets with chinese lettering on them and a dungeons and dragons poster.

Now, mind you, I was just moving out on my own, so the sheets were welcomed, but I ride horses a lot, and I throw my clothes on my bed, and my sheets didn't stay white for long....

And I do love a good game of D&D, and Dragons are one of my absolute favoritist animals, so the poster's nice too....

I guess they're just kinda weird presents for V-day...

Considering I have NEVER gotten anything for Valentine's Day, I cant say I've got weird presents... However, for Christmas DH gave me a Lava Lamp
I never mentioned I wanted one, nor do I have a use for one, but I have one... A Neon green Lava lamp that now resides in the kids bedroom
