Every big city seems to have this problem and cats have a way of finding the place that is best in the city for them to survive and consequently you have these pockets. I just returned from Bucharest last year and the whole city is one giant feral city for dogs. And the weird thing is that they all look well fed because people like them and when the mayor threatened to take care of the dog situation, the voters took care of him! There is one park that probably has at least a thousand dogs hanging in the area and as I sat in the park I noted people going into a butcher shop adjacent and buying long strings of sausages to which they would come out and sit on the park bench and feed the dogs. You can ask people in Bucharest what they think about the dog problem and they will say "what dog problem" and it was recently estimated that upwards of a QUARTER MILLION FERAL DOGS live in Bucharest for reasons that we would have to dive into a history lesson. And apparantly there are no problems such as rabies outbreaks or any other real health issues because it looks like this situation is just not going to go away. But I would not mention this again to somebody from Bucharest because they would say "what situation"?
