Maybe its because I'm a...
I have a BIG interview tomorrow at UCL.
Its where I sit and look terrified for an hour, and they decide they don't want me

I Really need to get an offer because its far and away my top choice, and if I don't get in I'll cry for a week and repeat the year if necessary.
I sound just a little OTT but its the only university I can feasibly go to, and I've wanted to go ever since I first visited.
So, any spare vibes hanging around would be really useful.

Get that outta your head right now

Go in and be yourself. Eat a couple of Bananas (or something high in potassium) a couple of hours before going in. Foods high in potassium help with all the butterflies.

GOOOOOOOOD LLUUUUUUCK!

Well my dear, don't assume they won't want you. Negative thoughts produce negative outcomes

THINK POSITIVE!! and just do your best, you'll be fine

The most important thing is to just be honest and be yourself. If you are, they will like you for who you are. Try to think of your strengths and weaknesses and what would make you a good candidate. That will get you going onto the positive track.
Good Luck! Think Positive!

I DID IT!!!
*celebrates*
There were only 85 places and 719 applicants so I'd convinced myself I'd be reapplying next year, but I just got the letter and it looks like I'll be staying in London for my MSci

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. CONGRATULATIONS!

UCL is a great university, I worked for them for a while (at the Institute of Archaeology) and if I ever get to do my MA (want to do something along the lines of Museum/Artefact studies, the work I was doing was with the IoA collection) that's where I want to study. Have to come into some money before that's likely, working to pay the mortgage comes first.

I really hope you enjoy your time there and get a lot from your studies
When do you start?

I'm gapping it so sept/oct 2008

I'm a little dazed from it all still. In just 4 years time I have to come up with a piece of original research, in a department where students have discovered new TB vaccines, and proved NASA wrong over the reaction speed of ClO free radicals

I'm so excited
I'm such a geek

That is wonderful news! Don't worry about being a geek - you are just very interested in something useful. What are you going to do in your gap year?

I'll probably work full time at my current saturday job (i'm a librarian
) for a few months. I'd like to travel and do all the usual studenty things, maybe travel to Taiwan with my Bf. Either way, I'd like to keep busy.
