told me upon Lexi's last visit that they did X-rays and said her heart and lungs were enlarged. Not much, but they weren't exactly normal. Is this something I should be worried about in the future?? What can cause an enlargement like that?? I just don't want something unexpected to happen or for her to suffer. The vet couldn't really give me a reason, so I was wondering if anyone else has ever had a similar problem with their cat??

If you can afford too I would get a second vets opinion...

Oddly enough we actually have 3 vets at our vet. The one that told me was the younger one, and I like the actual owner better so I might just ask him when I take her in for her shots.

Phar Lap had an enlarged heart... he did very very well...

I guess depending on the WHY they're enlarged would indicate whether to keep a closer watch on puss... if enlarged by fluid build up, yes, if born that way, not necessarily.

*hugs*

Yes, I'd sure get another vet to look at those X-rays. In humans, enlargement of the heart is a pretty serious thing... so you deserve a better answer than you were given.

Hoping the best for your baby.

You might also start saving for an echocardiogram. If the kitty has heart issues, the echo can sometimes help determine what treatments may be beneficial.
