Resizing help or is it Phoobucket's fault?

I have made a siggy that according to PSP is 550 X 134. But when I upload it here using Photobucket it says 618 X 168.

And using Photobucket's upload it's at email, webpage max 240 X320. Not messageboards. I've resized the siggy 3 times and each time I upload to here it says it's 618 x 168. What to do? I'm sure it's some so simple that I'm missing.

Thanks

The image you have now looks like it was saved it for Website, Email ( 320 x 240 )

I keep mine at 17" screen or 1MB and resize myself before uploading

is it the image in your sig line?

Maybe it's my computer screen? It just looks big. But it's okay for the rules here, right?

It is way smaller than mine!

Have you logged out of photobucket and TCS and logged back in, you may be seeing a cached version that needs refreshing

Yep, that was it. I deleted my cookies, history, etc and now it is smaller... way too small. Now I need to go back to Photobucket & change it to message board size.

You will need to reupload, photobucket makes it very low quality if you resize to bigger

Hi icklemiss21,
I have a question for you, too. I read that a member needs to belong to TCS for 24 hours and have at least 5 posts in order to upload a sig. Does that number include replies to other folks' questions or only new threads? I've been a member for a couple of weeks now, I post like crazy and have a sig I'm dying to upload, but still don't have permission. Thanks!

That's really weird that you are having a problem. What is the error message you are getting?

You can't upload a signature directly from your computer. You'll have to upload the photo to an account with Photobucket or Flickr and then paste the IMG code under "Edit Signature". icklemiss has instructions on how to do that here.
