The boys are fed at 7am and 6pm each day. Well, on my off days, like today, they will play the starving kitty routine starting at 4pm. Scratch, my boy who was starved as a kitten, will play this to the hilt. He will walk around and hem and haw like he is being abused again. 8-Bit will throw himself into my lap and give me the most pathetic look you can imagine. This will last until I get my butt off the chair and go into the kitchen to feed them. I sometimes can last until 5:30, but most days I give in around 5.

I can't help it. Call me a bad Meowmy, but they can play me like a fiddle.

I never give in. My guys aren't good at that & I know if I feed them early, they'll just follow me around meowing like "hey, that wasn't good enough food!"

Yep, I would give in.

Opie thinks every time I get the milk out I am supposed to give him some. And of course I do, he is very spoiled now.

Scratch! Thats not nice to play the starving kitty routine

Well, I only feed my goobers once in the mornings, so that always happens when we wake up, and they have biscuits for the rest of the day.

They are pretty good about food actually

Both the cat and dog get fed twice a day, same time each day whether it's a weekday or weekend. Now guess who gets fed first?

Trout is free fed, and she doesn't even care when her bowl is empty. She doesn't even let me know, I have to see that its empty and fill it or else she would never tell me..She is polite I guess?

Wow! Trout is a weird kitty! I've never met a cat who doesn't tell their slave when they're out of food.

Don't feel bad about feeding them early, what's half an hour anyway? Why do kitties HAVE to be on an evening schedule?

Our girls are free fed dry and get some tinned food in the evenings. Smudge assumes she should be fed every time we go near the kitchen, so bugs us anyway. We usually do it when we trip over her and realise she REALLY wants her dinner!
If she doesn't bug us, she generally doesn't get her evening tinned food.

Mine always beg. I try to hold out until 6pm (I'm good during the week, with work) but on the weekends, it's hard to resist their cute faces.
But I remind myself that I shouldn't feed them more than 2 times/ day for their health. Don't want them to have diabetes, like my other cat had.

Ooo...I've been forced up at 6 am on weekends just cause they want food. Sometimes Whitey (who is quite heavy) just sits on my stomach and stares at me.

Othertimes he and Patches start fighting. Or Patches just cries.

Otherwise I pretty much ignore them. I won't let them command me

Nope, they get fed between 5 and 7 usually. Jasmine never wants to come in till hours later because she just wants to play in the grass and be all cute. Charlie is always there at dinner and will stretch up against the counter and circle me till i put the bowl down (and i have to hide Jasmines food bowl because he is SO greedy!)

I give in so much that I doubt it could be called "giving in". It is really just part of my life of devoted service to Danny!

Except Valentine's dates...

Topaz gets one can in the morning. She'd eat two, but then throw up. So one can a day - with pathetic looks from her at about 4 in the afternoon. I tell her to help herself to the dry. She goes to Mom and gives her the pathetic look. Doesn't do any good because I am the can opener due to Mom's arthritis.
