I'm so proud of the Beancat. He went in for his vaccinations yesterday, and he just sat there for both shots, the vet didn't have to hold him down at all. I wish I could say the same for my other rascals
.

It really shouldn't surprise me because it's been getting easier and easier to give him his pill. I was full of confidence today, so I didn't hold him down at all, and he took it like a good boy.
Now if I could just convince him to just pick it up and swallow it.

He's not perfect though
He normally just gets right in the carrier with no trouble. I didn't anticipate a problem yesterday. Bad idea, LOL. I had to turn it on it's end and drop him in with quite a struggle. It's like he was trying to tell me "Hey, I'm not sick!". I can't blame him for trying.

Anyone have any good kitty / bad kitty stories?

My cats kick up a big fuss getting into the cat carriers. Fred is the worst. I have to tip the carrier up on its end, then lower him down into it. His back legs spread out, making it hard to get him in. I have to hold the back legs together, like a little piglet, while I lower him down.
Nermal isn't so bad about getting in the carrier, but if he see's me doing Fred first he will simply run away and hide.
The whole thing is very stressful for me. I often get them in the carrier about an hour before departure just in case.
We all have to go to the vet this month, so I have the carriers to look forward to!

I had the HARDEST time pilling Trout when she was sick last year..She is really good at spitting those pills out. I pray that I never have to pill her again, I felt so bad and she hated it.

I feel your pain. I have to be very very quiet, and set it down - unlatch the door then get it somewhat closed again so that when I turn back around with a squirming cat in my arms, I won't find the wrong cat inside the silly thing.

I know what you mean. When it doesn't go well, I do feel very bad.

Beandip and I have been doing this pilling routine daily for almost a year. It took about 10 months of suffering and experimentation until we got it down.
