I have a little Calico thats a year and a half. I got her from my friend who lives in an Apatment building and she was dumped at the bottom of the Elevator. I don't know who could of done this but... she found her way into my heart

She recently had an eye infection and is possibley Herpes (although the tests came out negative the vet thinks it may be herpes). Now she's has to have eye drops done daily.

Lately I've worked long days at work and she's been pooping in different places while I was away. My friend thinks its cuz she's lonely and ya I can see that. But the other day she pooped on the carpet right in front of me?!?!

I caught her and she had a time out... today she went in the litter box
She got a treat and a lot of petting.

Now an hour later she's sitting around and looking ill. Won't eat or drink. Has thrown up all day and has diareah. I don't think it was the treats as I've been giving her the same treats ever since I've got her and she's never got sick on this.

Question is do you think the drops can cause upset stomach and diareah (she's been on the same drops since the moment her eye flared up)? Or perhaps she ate something?? Although she's more of the type of cat to play with something rather than eat it.

Bah... I'm just running out of things to help her... and Vet bills are killing me!

I wouldnt think eye drops could cause that kind of reaction. Does it say there are any side effects? Maybe you could call the vet and ask. Doesnt sound like she's doing too good

I agree - I don't think the eyedrops would do that. When kitty stops eating and especially drinking and with vomiting and diarrhea, they dehydrate very quickly. Pooping outside the box is a very big way of letting you know that hey, mom, something's wrong! I'd say the vet needs to be contacting very soon.

It could be that she is just lonely, you said that you have been working long hours. And her little tummy could be just tore up because she knew she had done wrong when she went poo poo in front of you. She thought she was in trouble. Or she really might have ate something, I would keep an eye on her and if she doesn't get better I would take her back to the vet.

no she's not... this is the first time day in two weeks that I get to spent time with her... and she's bad. I feel soooo bad for her

I called the Vet and she said to monitor her but the diraeah keeps coming.. she's trying to be brave and coming out for attention and searching me out to be petted, last time she was ill she couldnt't give a damm that I was home... I think this is a good sign... but?? I did have a cat when I was a kid that had urinary blockage and he was fine untill it was to late... I'm worried but am strapped for cash.... bah... I'll spend every last dime I have on her if so be... but the Vet said to give her a bit and see what happens tomorrow.

I've been giving her Iams runny soft food and she' eating that... at least she's getting something into her system.

She seems ok a little... but I can tell she's not up to par

Maybe the Iams runny soft food is tearing up her tummy, maybe it is too soft and runny for her, I would call the vet back and tell her what you are feeding your kitty, it could be the food.

I am sending prayers and hugs from Mississippi for you and your kitty, I hope she gets better soon.

Please keep us updated on her.

thanx... I'm really upset and nobodys around to cry too...

She's eating though... I normarlly feed her solid food (Purina one) and she's never had a problem with it. Then today she wouldn't even look at it.

The Iams soft food (in the package with the juice..) seems to be working. She's eating!! Thats a good sign.

I'll monitor and see if she's throws this up.

If she does... thank god my Vet works till late in the night and is open Sundays... I love these guys and they take sooooo god care of her.

I trust there opinions... they may cost a bit more (and some coworkers that I work with think there just out there for the money,,, but sometimes a little extra cash is worth spending on a little kitty that gives you all her love
)

Thankyou from Me and Chaos

Yes, I am glad that she is eating too.

And it is very important that you trust your vets, we have used the same vet for almost 17 years. I trust what ever he tells me.

And if you need someone to cry to, come here and cry, we are always ready to listen and to help you if we can.
